Even though the Rapira blade is getting tired it still helped me to get a fantastic BBS shave in two passes with some cleanup. The Albion soap I received from Tony can literally flood your bathroom in rich, thick, slick lather which smells so beautiful and it has a very comfortable postshave feeling. The Fino balm is indispensable for my den also because it’s so soothing, and my wife loved the Amici aftershave’s scent when she kissed me before going to work!

3rd day in a row with this bunch and it just keeps getting better. Two pass, minor touch-up BBS shave again. The HBG sandalwood aftershave really matches the scent of the Proraso red cream. I'm smooth, toned and out the door...

Outstanding shave. The soap performs well but I do wish it was more like the pinaud bay rum. The scent is rum but sweet and pairs better with the Avon bay rum which is even more sweeter smelling. The razor is mild and smooth and the blade is just awesome.

1927 Roller Guard-Fatip Mk1/BIC, Palmolive Classic. A lot of cap swaps until arriving at one which wasn't unacceptably mild. I don't think the Old Type benefits at all from the Roller Guard but this ain't bad, surprisingly smooth given the large cap span. Still required more buffing than i like but BBS capable.

When you had the old type cap with this, how was the shave? Was it mild?

It was too mild for me. Even with the handle as loose as possible it was not acceptable for me. Same with the Fatip Mk2 cap. Seems meant for those not looking for BBS who find the Old Type exposure too much to handle, ie not me.

Bet that spearmint feels and smells great.

It does....y'know, when I first heard of "spearmint" as a shave-related ingredient(that is, pre-during-post)I had my doubts as to what it would smell like. I should have recalled all the spearmint gum I used to chew, and gone by that. Might pay some attention now to Stoylin's Eucalyptus&Spearmint products.
