Memorable Monday
I used 1803 today to remind myself how much I like the scent and performance. I'm glad it didn't sell, this is a reminder for me to avoid impulsive sales. The shave was superb in every aspect. I only wish the aftershave scent was stronger, or that 1803 was offered in a solid cologne or EdT.

I finally finished my Thayer's Rose witch hazel, I'm not using Cucumber.
Really nice relaxing shave.

 

Early E2 this morning with a loose blade I found in my toilet kit. I guess TSA doesn't spot those? Very clean and smooth. Nice way to start the day.

SOTD: Considered using a traditional Japanese kamisori but too lazy on my day off. Settled for an easier shave with a more typical 'western-style' Japanese razor, this fine FON Golden Star 13/16," Martin de Candre 'Fougére' soap, vintage 1905 Rubberset boar, and a spiced citrus finish from Musgo Real #3 aftershave. No regrets. Great shave. Have a great Monday, all!

Route 66 Sweeney Todd today. 20 seconds to load the Thater Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. I moved the Vintage Gillette Platinum Plus to the Black Handle Super Speed. Excellent smooth, close shave. I finished with Bulgari Man in Black EdT.

Another try with the Lather Catcher with a different blade and still no joy. The razor is just to mild and fails on all counts except for looking great. Oh well. Just picked up another SE while on my vacation that I'll clean up and try out. Now go enjoy your day folks.

Checked the mailbox this afternoon and had a package from MER Shaving, went with Duck Sauce which is a duck fat soap that is scented with orange and ginger. Has a pleasant scent that is heavier on the orange than the ginger. It whipped up a creamy lather very quickly and was impressed with the lather quality. Excellent first impression. Got a great BBS shave and finished off with T&S Classic. Hope everyone had a great shave!

No shave change for me tomorrow, but it does begin to get me wondering if I should put down $36 for a case of 24 of the new 8.7 Rise Super Foams.

This razor and blade combo turned out to be an excellent choice. Also, since restoring brushes, this brush is my most used boar brush and is turning out to be an excellent performer, it just feels so good. Had a near perfect shave with two passes and with just a hint of touch up in one spot under my chin afterwards, I had an extremely smooth and comfortable BBS shave.
