Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

A super-frigid way to start off the week and to get a great shave at the same time. The L'Oreal wash definitely has detectable menthol that gives a nice cooling sensation, and the Palmolive Menthol cream is one of the coldest tube creams I ever used. Not only is the Anherb conditioner a face-freezer, it gives awesome moisturizing and protection against razor burn and irritation. The Aqua Velva is an aftershave which I absolutely need to have in my rotation. ;) :D

I just want to sing the praises of my Schick M adjustable. If I could only use one razor, I think this would be my choice. It is so easy to use, and the shaves are awesome. I enjoy using my GEMs and Gillettes, but this particular Schick may be the best of all. I may be settling down with it at least until next year. Today's shave was one of the best. I'm feeling clean, smooth, and refreshed.

    Another great shave!
The LASS Woody Lavender whipped up loads of lather paired with my HIS brush. I need to work on portion control since I always seem to have too much. It's not a big deal, though because this tub will last a very long time.
My face feels great thanks to the soap and the TSD AS milk.

    Have a great Monday.

    Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap
    Soap: Stirling Blu
    Razor: ’66 Gillette Slim “6”
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (1)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip
    Aftershave: Krampert’s Frostbite

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

I just got some of the Gillette Platinum’s that have surfaced recently. I put one in my Slim today set on 6. I used Stirling Blu to lather with. I got a great first shave with the GP in the Slim. The Platinum’s are about the same price as the Silver Blues or a little more and harder to find currently. They can be found in Israel and Romania so far. I finished up with Krampert’s Frostbite.

You never really know about blade names from St. Petersburg or from Personna anywhere?

I tried something different with the edge on this razor last night, unsuccessfully I might add so I'll probably be playing around with it for a while. Decent shave but that's it. Have a good one.

    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: WW2 Gillette Khaki
    Blade: Sheffield Special (day 1)
    Brush: Wilkinson Sword
    Soap: Proraso white tub
    Passes: 3 (WTG x2, XTG)
    Post: cold water, Proraso blue

Not sure about the Sheffield blade... I could feel it working throughout the whole shave. It was an interesting feeling.
The shave itself was a good shave. Nice lather, no nicks or irritation. Beard reduction could have been better. My normal trouble spots didn't present a problem, but my neck in general could use an extra pass. The feeling I was getting from the blade definitely affected this shave.

It was another great shave! I really like my VDH boar brush; I just wish that it didn't shed so much. I can't wait for Santa to bring me a Semogue 830!

Thanks to my TSD secret Santa HolyRollah for the Barrister & Mann soap! This soap loaded easily and produced a good creamy lather without much effort. Pleasant soapy smell from this unscented soap. I like this soap.

Lather: Barrister & Mann unscented soap
    Brush: HIS synthetic
    Razor: Gillette Super Speed, 1956
    Blade: Astra SP
    After: cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

Excellent creamy lather from the Barrister & Mann soap again today. I have been looking at the Super Speed for several days now in my razor rack. I have had mixed results in the past from my birth year razor, but I was ready to give it another try. Astra blades are a good dependable blade for me in several razors, so put one in the Super Speed. I have to think that my technique has gotten better, because I had a very pleasant, close shave in four smooth passes.

    Monday, Cheap Week:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, Crown Shaving Co. Supreme Glide Preshave Lotion
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Soap: VDH Unscented
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Dorco-301 (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Nivea Energy ASB

The nicks/weepers on my neck from Saturday precluded a shave Sunday, which in turn mean that I felt I needed to use the Neutrogena and the preshave lotion even in the "cheap week;" I'll see if foregoing them tomorrow is acceptable or not. I've found I like a bit more backbone than what the VDH Boar has, but it lathers up the VDH soap like a champ. The Dorco 301 tugged a little more than I recalled - I've probably gotten spoiled on blades that work a little better for me - but two passes produced a DFS + shave without any irritation or weepers. The Nivea is a very refreshing feeling on my skin, even if it doesn't absorb well for me. I might as well call this my "use up excesses" week, since the Dorco blades and Nivea ASB are products I like well enough to use, but not enough to buy again unless I have no choice.

Aftershave: TSD SubZero AS Splash w M Bomb added
This morning was my coldest shave to date. Received TSD Iced Subzero AS Balm and M Bomb additive from a secret Santa and had to give them a try. The preshave balm is great stuff and a little does go a long way. Followed by Yeti Snot uber menthol shave soap and have to admit the cold water rinse afterwards reminded me of when I had to shave out in the snow while on training maneuvers in Germany. I then added 1 drop of M bomb into subzero aftershave splash that I had poured into the balm of my hand and 25 minutes later I can still feel the coldness on my face.

    A feverish Shave

Pre: Hot shower, Hot face towel, Homemade PSO
    Razor: Mekur Futur (set@3)
    Blade: Shark Super Chrome
    Brush: Omega 626 Silvertip
Lather: Arko Ice Mint cream, scuttle-warmed
    Shave: Two passes, plus touch-up
Post: Alum, Osage Rub splash, 444 menthol balm

102° fever shall not prevent me from my morning routine… ;)
The Arko Ice mint cream provides a very dense, slick lather with a menthol chill. Warm lather with a cool aftereffect is a nice feeling.
Only bad part was a coughing spasm mid-shave, causing me to nick myself pretty thoroughly on my cheek. Good thing I wasn't using a straight this morn. :)
Shark blades a bit 'tuggy' considering it was a first-use. Osage & 444 give a me a nice cooling chill, a great balm for my feverishness.

    Have a great week, everyone!
