I had a few revelations this morning. One, I'm impressed with my boars but I really need to switch back to badger, just something about them every time I use my Simpsons makes me grin like an idiot. Two, TBS Maca Root....could be my absolute favourite cream and outperforms all my soaps. Three, I need to switch to open combs, 3 pass BBS with it not even feeling like I was shaving. Argh, Arley I blame you but have to thank you for helping me narrow down finding my holy grail ;) Hmmm, now to decide on a new RR Bastone OC or iKon Deluxe OC (2013)....

    Merkur Progress 500 - @4
    Feather Stainless Blade
    Proraso PSC
Cyril R. Salter SC - Wild Rose
    Semogue 820 Boar
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Nivea Replenishing ASB
    English Leather Cologne

I must make a note to myself to use more of the Salter Wild Rose SC. I love this stuff~! The scent is amazing and it delivers tons of lather. The Progress is a whisker eating machine and leaves a smooth and comfortable path where ever it goes. The English Leather finishes quite nicely as well! :love029:

I am still trying to get my German buddy to see if he can get some Diana Sport Balsam online. In the mean time—and once I get the dosage sorted out—I will be putting menthol crystals in my Nivea Sensitive ASB until it gets super strong. Kind of a homemade version of DSB. :happy088:

A bit rough of a shave. I think with this RR razor I can only get 1 or 2 shaves out of an Astra. I only used to shave a little bit of my face because of facial hair but now I shave the whole thing, I guess that reduces blade longevity. Oh well at a penny a blade I can deal with ditching it after every shave. Loving the Semogue as well. One of the best $20 I've spent. TOBS set was a terrific Bday present and performs great. I know my girlfriend got me MWF in the ceramic dish for Xmas, seriously hard not to go raid her closet!

Mike, it is actually a sundae bowl. Found it on clearance at Target for $2 USD. Lathers like a champ, but it does creep up the sides easy. I'm happy with it until my wife and sons make me one at the local pottery shop. Thanks for the interest. :)
