Well, our good friend Steve started a very nice theme and I'll start the regular one. For those who are joining me on this theme, here's my setup.

It took me so long to decide on what to use for this special shave day, but I think I made some very good choices. The L'Oreal wash is quite cooling, especially if you leave it on your face for a couple of minutes. The Godrej Menthol Mist is one of the coldest tubed creams out there and it gives super-rich lather and great blade glide. The combination of the Diana balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo are off the charts.

I have to admit it felt awfully 'easy' shaving with the Merkur again after the learning curve with the FaTip. The Beeline makes lather just about as well as the Simpson, but it takes longer. I also fell in love all over again with the smoothness of a fresh Bolzano. All in all, a DFS shave that's not QUITE as close as what I was getting last week with the FaTip.

The KMF is becoming one of my favorites. I did two passes and touch-ups with the Parker pure badger brush. The lather is cool and refreshing. The GEM MMBT gave me a near BBS shave, and I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed. Nice...​

The tile floor in the bathroom felt like 20F today. The shave was rushed and I left a few rough spots along the jawline in my haste.

Part of me wanted to see how many shaves I could get out of the Astra SP, but I loaded up a new one anyways. WOW! That is a shape blade! Very happy with today's results. A clean very smooth shave with little to no effort required. The fresh blade felt like it was floating over my face.

I did get one small nick on my jaw line, but it's hardly noticeable.

Finished the shave off with Proraso; a step that is is becoming more important with the colder weather as it stops my face from drying out.

I dropped a new Med Prep in my Red Tip, lathered up with my Stirling Spice and Whipped Dog Silvertip, and finished with Krampert’s Bay Rum.

This brush is finally starting to come into it's own (broken in, almost). Nice shave today. The construction season is almost over, it's just getting too cold to work with water and not have everything freeze up. So with a little luck, normal life should return for a couple of months.

Post: cold water rinse, Krampert's Finest Frostbite

I decided to try out the Subzero sample I got last week, and the lather was not as good as the lanolin soap. It seemed more airy and thin. I may have put too much water into it. My shave felt comfortable, but I do have some burn now on my neck. I applied some Proraso Green PSC to put out the fire.

Today was my second time with a Voskhod blade and I'm starting to see why this blade gets so much love. It shaves very close, but is also a very comfortable blade. Very nice shave today.

After a successful selling purge of my den this weekend (5 DE razors, 5 brushes), I down to just a few DE razors & a manageable amount of brushes. This is offset somewhat by the addition of two new straights.
A two-pass Mühle shave (taking on 2-days growth) = a very efficient shave with near BBS results.
