Ever-Ready Brass SE razor

Hi all,

Well, Stroker asked so I snapped a quick photo of my Ever-Ready razor mentioned in my last post. I have yet to see another one quite like it. It's one of my favorite razors right now. If anyone has any info on it, I'd love to know more about this little fella. Got it off the "bay" a few months back for less than $10 shipped! Thinking of looking for a G-Bar GEM soon. But I've got my eye on one of those new E&J DE razors too. ...it's an addiction isn't it. :ashamed001

FYI, the brush pictured is the Omega 11126. Great little brush once it's broken in. Still working on it, but it's great with soaps and not too big either. All are atop a Perdomo cigar box.

I'm not sure in what year your Ever-Ready was manaufactured but, it's very similar to my 1924 Ever-Ready Travel razor. They are excellent shavers and the little travel Ever-Ready has been my take-along razor for a long time. Great find! Here are some pics of mine.

What a smart looking razor! Love the travel case too. Taking a guess, I figure mine is older, but I'm only basing that on certain design fashions of the day. With the ornate style of Victorian gingerbread on it's way out and Art Deco and Bauhaus on their way in, I figure they were moving more toward a modern aesthetic with yours. Just a guess though.

I think your correct, yours is probably older than 1924. I have a 1912 GEM with the same design on the handle as yours. I love all the SE razors and currently have seven of them. All are great shavers!

I love this Gibbs shaving stick--it's an oldie, and a very goodie! Today's shave was quick, but still very nice and smooth.

 

I picked one of these up last summer from CountryJoes. They had it listed as an Ever Ready 1912. Do not know the exact date of mfg. Same ornate handle as yours, with chrome plating. It is a fine shaver indeed.
