    Very plainly and simply!

    Menthol Monday:

Gatsby Ice Cooling Gel Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    #6 Horsehair
    Super Speed/new Perma Sharp
Stirling Glacial SS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Diana Sport Menthol Balm :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Osage Rub AS :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Aramis Stick Deodorant
    Aramis EdT

Quite frankly and honestly, there isn't another set-up that's as cold as this one because even the Gatsby facial wash has more menthol power than a lot of soaps and creams which I've used. The Glacial soap may be a bit tricky to lather up, but I'm very patient with it and it gives me good and workable lather with the absolute most POWERFUL menthol sensation I ever experienced in my entire life, with a nice and frigid scent. Its skincare is also perfect - in other words, it's a wonderful soap. (thanks again to my dear friend Ryan!) The Diana Sport balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo are without equals in freeze levels! ;) :D

This ER'14 is such a 'blast from the past'...Maxed out audio and tactile feed-back really ratchets up the fun factor...and this razor just delivers extaordinary shaves...this one is definitely a contender for my number 1 spot...Just a little more time will tell...

2 pass and touch-up BBS as fine as I've ever seen...

    Monday:

Prep: Hot shower, Crown Co. Supreme Glide Preshave Lotion
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grapefruit Mint Glycerin-in-a-Jar
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo Nickel
    Blade: Bolzano Superinnox (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Lucky Tiger Vanishing Menthol ASB
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

I decided it had been too long since I went for the full 3-pass, BBS shave, and figured the first Monday morning after 'Bologna Sandwiches' week was as good an excuse as any. The Simpson Best Badger brush lathers up the Ginger's Garden soap so much easier than either of my boar brushes do, the comparison's not even fair. Loaded into the FaTip, the Bolzano is an even smoother shaver for me than in the Merkur, such that I didn't even feel the blade until the ATG pass - where tiny bits of redness may indicate I pushed a little further for closeness than necessary. No matter, as there were no weepers or irritated spots, and the Lucky Tiger left my face ice-smooth and frozen. BBS indeed.

    Prep: Hot Shower
    Soap: Stirling Clubman
    Razor: ’66 Gillette Slim (6)
Blade: Super-Max Blue Diamond Platinum (1)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip
    Aftershave: Clubman

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

The Slim is back in action with a Super-Max Blue Diamond Platinum blade. I got the 5-pack of BDP’s in a trade. The Super-Max BDP did well for its first shave in the Slim: close, nick & burn free. The Stirling Clubman is a welcome addition to my soaps. I finished with Clubman AS. A great start to the work week.

    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: WW2 Gillette Khaki
    Blade: Sheffield Special (day 6)
    Brush: Wilkinson Sword
    Soap: Col Conk lime
    Passes: 3 (WTG x2, XTG)
    Post: cold water, alum

I did have some doubts going into today's shave, but they were unfounded. I didn't shave this weekend, and wasn't sure if the Col Conk and Sheffield blade would cut through the Stubble, but it did!

I got a great lather from the Col Conk, which was nice. I've had issues with this soap before. There was some tugging from the Sheffield, but it wasn't bad and there might actually be a seventh days usage hiding in this blade...

I finished with alum, and am very happy that I hardly noticed. :)

Ten Shaves: Gillette Fatboy adjustable day 3

I returned to my old standard soap, Tabac Original today because I like the way it takes care of my face - I've never had a bad shave with it, so far.

I made my first two passes set on four, hoping to avoid burn while I look for the right angle with this razor. I have to say it seems more illusive than with my MR10. I still had some irritation and roughness, so for the ATG pass, I dialed down to one. I was able to comfortably do the pass, but I needed a bunch of touch up to get SAS. I was surprised at how much burn the witch hazel revealed! The shave felt pretty good while it was happening. I resorted to Proraso Crema Pre Barba to put out the fire, and I may have to return to another balm later. This really feels crappy. To top it off, I dropped the shaving bowl my wife bought me and shattered it.
I'm not writing this razor off yet, but I am going back to my trusty MR10 for the next few days. I'd rather focus on family for Christmas without having to feel a razor burn. I am also so grateful for this loan! If I had bought this razor, it would feel worse that I'm having so much trouble figuring it out. This shaving community is such a great plus to this hobby!
