This weeks picture of a 3-Piece razor out of the TSD archive is courtesy of me. :)

    Wednesday, February 6, 2012 - Midnight Shave

    Prep :: Shower/Glycerin
Razor :: Gillette NEW Short Comb /w BRW Handle
Blade :: Personna Med. Prep. (4 and it's outta here!)
    Soap :: RazoRock LE
Brush :: Rudy Vey Omega Boar
Post :: Alum, Cold water rinse, WH + Rosewater

A great shave tonight. The RR LE is great slippery protection soap and I had forgotten how great the GFT Skin Food is. Three drops covers the whole face.

Hot Shower and Facial Pre Scrub
    Proraso Preshave Cream
    Kai Captain Excelia (Japanese style)
    Omega 10029 Boar Brush
    Vitos Green Soap
Alum block followed by Three Crowns Rosewater AS Milk
    Floid Original AS

Off on leave today so I had a long relaxed shave. I use an airtight pot to hold the Vitos Green. This means that over time the soap becomes VERY soft. Today I used it like a cream with no effect on performance. A BBS shave with two passes and some touch up:happy088:

YEAH! 3 piece week! My feather is a three piece! FINALLY I can participate in a "theme week" :D

Ok, I shaved last night befor work and got a jump on menthol monday
This morning I get home and my face was feeling pretty furry already so I thought I can shave again (oh joy :happy108:)
SSSSOOOOO, I tried an idea I've been kicking around lately
I used ONLY Proraso pre shave today. Grabbed the feather AS and had at it
full ATG 1 pass with only the pre shave
Got the closest to a BBS of my LIFE!!!!
    It was fantastic!
    No lather, no soap,nodda, nothing.

I'll let ya know how bad the razor burn is when I get up this afternoon :D

    00091959_03.jpg booster_ice_AS.jpg Menthol Monday:

    Omega Wooden Handle
    Super Speed/7 AM day 4
Palmindaya SC :love029: :love029: :smiley freezing: :smiley freezing:
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Booster Polar Ice AS :love029: :love029: :love029: :love029:
    JHL Cologne

The only thing that really has any menthol which I used today in this shave is the Palmindaya cream, which I think is fantastic. I was more interested today in a "barbershop shave", so this stuff came in handy. Palmindaya is used in barbershops all over Brazil, and it has a beautiful and very "old-school" scent. The lather is rich and creamy, and the menthol effect is quite strong. I'd rate it as a small step below Proraso Green. The Polar Ice aftershave, as everyone knows is a Canadian barbershop specialty. ;) :D

What a fantastic shave, two pass WTG XTG, BBS it doesn't really get better. great razor the Feather AC - SS. But you do need time on your hands when using this razor, not the razor for anyone who's in a hurry, it's no quick once over in the morning razor.

    Omega Professional Boar
    Gem 1912

I've had the Irisch Moos sitting around for a while untried; now it's the soap for all of this week. Great lather, a bit strong smelling, but much more pleasant than the other offering from this maker, Tabac.

Happy Monday TSD'ers ... yay, I can participate in a theme!

    hot shower & soak brush
    TBS Synthetic
    Merker HD 34C
    Astra SP (2)
    TBS Shave Oil
    C&E Nomad cream
    Cold water rinse
    C&E Nomad AS

Normally I'm too lazy on Monday mornings to shave, but today I was up early and thought WTH :). Did 3 passes WTG/XTD and ATG. ATG is leaving my neck kinda irritated with red dots. I'm pretty sure it's not my technique as I'm not nicking or cutting myself at all. It must be the equipment and/or product - I guess that means I'll just have to keep experimenting with different products ... bummer ;)

    Monday

    Razor: Merkur Futur
    Blade: Astra (?)
    Brush: Men-U Boar
    Soap: Omega (black tub)
    Toner: witch hazel
    A/S: Aqua Velva

My hand was bugging me, so I decided to use the Futur, had I known it was 3-piece week, I would have used my Merkur-Alu (I will later in the week, and I'll try to post a picture as well). Good shave to start the week!

Hello Brian believe it or not 95 per cent of my photo's are shot in the kitchen I use natural light from the window, a tripod a wireless remote and a small reflector board, and a plain piece of neutral coloured wall paper stuck to the wall with a piece of sellotape, if you are serious about taking a nice photo especially still life shots, you really should get a tripod and a remote shutter you need to stand back and look, and try and set out the best composition, dont be affraid to delete 4 or 5 shots if you dont like the light or composition, you have a live view on the back of your camera use it. think of it as a photo frame move around the shot changing and moving the reflector, when you are happy press the remote. I also always use manual settings white balance control shutter speed and apeture control, i use a Nikon D80 with a standard 18 - 55 lens which would be the equivilent of a 28 - 80 in 35mm.

    Regards Jamie.
