    Arko/TSD Bourbon Vanilla
    Vulfix 2235 S
    Superior 70 Menthol
    Superior 70

  5. PanChango

    PanChango Not Cute

    Joh. Engstrom 5/8 frameback
Gillette Red Tip w/ vintage Wilkinson Sword Blade (5)

    Arko Shave Stick
    Ever-Ready Super Silvertip

    Alum
    Superior 70 Bay Rum

With enough reading, some videos, and a bit of direction, I was able to hone the Engstrom to a reasonable level yesterday. It definitely wasn't as sharp or smooth as the one from Whipped dog, but I was able to do 2 successful WTG passes with it. Grabbed the Red Tip to finish cleanup and was rewarded with a very nice shave today.

    Have a great day all.

    Gillette New
    Gillette 7 O'C Black - Thanks Dale!
    Cold Water Rag
    Anherb ASG
    Pinaud Clubman

4 Passes = 5 Blade, Off The Hook, Bang A Gong, Inter-Galactic BBS!

I used a 7 O'C Black when I first got started with a DE and it is as I remember; a great shaving blade.

Also of note, OC razors and I have never been a good pair. I posted about it a few times and was told that my angle was bad and that is why the teeth marks were being left in the lather. So I revisited the OC and changed my angle slightly. The result is a fantastic BBS today.

    Have a great week Ya'll!

Absolutly wonderful timeless quality feeling...:) It's these kind of shaves that produce this kind of fantastic feeling, and powerfully positive vibe that makes this such a great hobby that we share. It's 4 hours later and I still can't wipe the smile off my face...:))
Great shaves and vibes for everyone...:))

    What kind of blades?

I've found, based on admittedly limited experience, that twin injector blades can liven up the shave on some of the milder injectors. These vintage blades are sort of like cartridges without the cartridge part, two thin blades separated by a thin metal spacer, and about the same thickness as a regular single blade. They won't fit all injectors, but are good in at least the types L and later Schicks. I have some by Schick and Personna, and look at the name of the one I used today.

    Schick type L injector
Gillette Trac II twin injector blade (4)
    Re-knotted Ever-Ready badger
    Vintage Old Spice soap

I finally got around to try my T&H samples and holy crap are they amazing. I used the 1805 and got an amazing lather that had a nice cushion. Great shave and I am looking forward to trying the other scents.

Last shave with the Deluxe B (for a while)

    Soap:MWF
    Brush:Kent
    Razor: '32 Rolls Deluxe B

Still a great shave from a rare Rolls but I'm going back to my Imperial Traveler Set. Less bling'y, got to admit that's a gawd awful lot of gold plating there (inside and out :D).

Pre-shave Soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Razor: Merkur 23C
    Blade: Supermax Super Stainless
    Brush: Edwin Jagger Best Badger
    Cream: TOBS Sandalwood
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Ogallala Bay Rum & Sandalwood Toner

Very nice shave today, except that I think the Supermax blade works a little better in a heftier razor, such as my Progress. The end result was fine, but I had to work at it a little harder with the 23C. One of the interesting aspects of wet shaving is all the little nuances among the various blade/razor combos.

    Razor: Mergress
    Blade: Super Iridium
    Brush: Simpson Douglas
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap: Trumper (Tallow version) Coconut Soap
    A/S: Taylor Mr. Taylor

I recently received a new Mergress razor from Eric (Mer). I am suitably impressed. Eric tweaked the razor so it now has a silkly smooth and accurate adjustment. The added weight of the knob seemed to aid the shave and I enjoyed an excellent BBS shave. The Tallow Trumper soap is top shelf and I cannot understand why they reformulated. I love this stuff!
