My dear brother Fernando in Johannesburg, South Africa is such a genius when it comes to wetshaving products - his soaps and aftershaves are now world famous. This Frosted Lavender soap and aftershave have the most GORGEOUS lavender scent I’ve ever experienced - the soap is tallow based like all his other soaps, the lather whips up beautifully and with tons of slickness, the menthol sensation it gives is so frigid that it’s easily a match for any of the Stirling Glacials, and it’s loaded with great skincare. The Prep works so well as a balm because it’s so soothing as well as moisturizing, and the Frosted Lavender aftershave is witch hazel based so it never stings or burns, it has the same wonderful scent as the soap, and the freeze is insane. Three passes did me proud with a dynamite BBS shave that I thoroughly enjoyed!

The Williams Mug Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #434 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the English Ever-Ready Razor and a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Granddad's Blend After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Here my Wednesday Shave (05.07.2023)


Razor: Mühle Rocca Jet // Blade: Permasharp Super (3) // Soap: Bundubeard Rooi Afrikaans (sample) // Brush: Shavemac // Aftershave: Nivea Beard & Skin Balm

Today was the premiere of my Bundubeard shave soap. Heared and read a few good things about it but reviews are rare. The soap itself is on the hard side. Lathered up very well and the lather was very cushiony and thick. Not as „yoghurt“-like as i am linking it but that was my fault because this water needs water…much water…the shave itself went well but the blade in it´s third use seemed to be on it´s limit. So it will be dumped. On to a new one.

All in all a more than good shave and a 9 out of 10.

Razor : Razorock 2nd Generation Lupo.72- Mfg Jan of 2021>, mid range, excellent machining and finish QC. Built to last many generations of 316 SS. Excellent razor to work under the nose area or any where else, had a stellar shave this morning with no issues.
Blade : Gillette Astra SP(2) sharp & smooth with great longevity.
Soap : TOBS Sandalwood, nice herbal scented shave cream with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "barber shop" 24mm 2band badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, excellent splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. 2band badgers are the best for general shaving needs in the world of shaving badger brushes IMO.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel beard cleanse + Ogallala Bayrum and sandalwood+ a dollop of Geo Trumper Sandalwood skin food.
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent stellar close shave with my RR Lupo & a Gillette Astra SP, it does not get much better a shave then this morning!
