Sunday, July 31, 2011 Prep: Hot shower, cork & hand strop blade Uberlather: C.O. Bigelow, VDH, glycerin Brush: Frank Shaving Fine Badger Razor: Gem OCMM Blade: Walgreen's Gem (1), 2 passes Post: WH + alum spray, Aqua-Velva Ice Blue, styptic pencil, Hand strop blade First go with the OCMM & I'm in love! What an excellent shave. This razor lives up to its reputation. I only needed 2 passes when I normally need 3-4. It was also the first time I've needed the styptic in about a month. Definitely had a few weepers. BBS above the jaw & DFS below. As I said, I'm in love!
Sunday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/new 7 AM Phyto Expert Sensitive SC Phyto Expert Sensitive AS Balsam Bulgari Blu Notte EDT It's been a while since I used the Phyto Expert stuff, and I'm glad I did. Besides the slight menthol cooling, the soothing is fantastic in both the cream and the aftershave balsam. I also notice a big difference between the Rapiras and the 7 AM's.

Yup. It was me. Too much water, not enough soap. Don't know why. Just one of those off days. Today's lather was superb. Live and learn.
Sunday AOS soap, unscented EJ best badger EJ DE89l Voshkod (2) TSD aftershave milk, unscented Exceptionally comfortable, BBS shave. Yesterday's shave with same setup but a Gillette yellow was not as good. That blade felt harsh, but I've had good shaves with it before. Amazing how inconsistent these things can be.
