How would you rate the menthol level on Denali? Does it smell similar to proraso green? Thanks.

SOTD July 10/16 (Euro cup final. Viva Portugal !!)

Razor - Schick adjustable with twin blade
    Soap - Tabac stick
    Bowl - Copper dimpled
    Post - Thayer's lavender

First time trying Tabac soap. Good easy lathering, does require a bit more water to stay hydrated. Smells like a traditional barbershop (not my favourite scent).

    Razor: Gillette Tech
    Blade: Personna Stainless Coated (6)
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Lather: Cremo
    Pre shave oil: Homemade
    A/S: Nivea Balm/Brut Splash On

I`m getting closer to Dolphin Smooth, almost there. A 2 pass shave, WTG/XTG,,,, ATG/XTG. 1st pass, so smooth, no words to describe, without incident.
The second pass was almost as smooth (my back hand). No hiccups or red spots on my Kleenex test. WOW, almost there. You guessed it, BBS (+- ?). Give me a little room for bragging rights. Hoping th same for all, wit regards.

    ram57 Don't Open til Christmas

First shave the Timeless Straight Bar and a Fantastic 2 pass shave with no touchups required. Maybe the Personna 74 helped out a lot in this initial run as they are the best blades I have ever used but based on other reviews from our forum buddies this is one heck of a razor. Does look aggressive with the blade exposure but felt smooth and no bite like the ONEBLADE and Feather AS-DS2 but I did produce one weeper on right side of the neck but didn't feel the bite at all and only noticed it when I rinsed off for the 2nd and final pass which was more of a touch up pass. Curious to compare shaves with other DE blades that I have in the den before final judgement but everything about the Timeless Razor that I have read so far is true to form. Tomorrow I will use the OC head to compare the two heads.

Mark If I remember right you bought the scalloped base as well. Was there much difference between the scalloped and OC version in your shave?

SOTD: Another salvage of an abused $5 ebay razor, this Solingen-made 'Sum-Extra' had seen better days. Not sure what someone was thinking on the blade modifications, but this was probably once a sweet-looking razor. The beautiful celluloid 3-pin scales are in outstanding shape. Worst case scenario was I've acquired nice set of scales to use on another blade if this one didn't work out. What's left of what was probably a 5/8 (or larger) blade is now 4/8. I did manage to get a very smooth, keen shaving edge—and the shave was surprisingly comfortable. :happy088:
