I'm so in love with that Glacial Wintergreen soap that I decided to use it again - that scent drives me crazy, that lather is awesome, and that freezing effect ensures that you won't sweat for even a second. With the help of the 444 balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo, you're guaranteed to feel cool and comfortable the whole day. :) :D

The MWF face lathered easily with my Semogue 1305 boar brush. Two passes and touch ups with my Gillette fatboy and Derby Extra blade left me with a close, comfortable shave. After my cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Morning Shave 23 June 2014

    Prep : shower + clearasil
    Razor : Gillette Tech
    Brush : Semogue 1305
    Cream : Mem Olive
    Blade : Israeli Personna - Viking's Sword (4)
Post : cold water + alum + Floid Genuine

In summer I tend to facelather instead using the scuttle so today it was the Mem Olive cream and Semogue 1305. I went with a super slick lather directly on my ugly mug, worked like a charm :)
Two quick passes WTG and ATG with the Tech and Viking's Sword and I'm ready to go. The alum block and Floid Genuine wrapped it all nicely before I bolted out the door.

Very nice shave this morning. I like the DVH, it could end up being a little drying for my skin post shave but I think I could get away with it during the summer months. Anyway, I can complain about it's other shaving qualities. Have a good one.

    Monday:
hot shower w/British Sterling bar soap
    Somersets PSO
    Gillette Sheraton 2+ passes
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum Blue (1)
    Surrey boar
VDH Luxury unscented soap in a warm mug
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    British Sterling AS

Very nice shave this morning. The Surrey is one of the brushes acquired while out scavenging and appeared to be unused since it came in it's original box and was very clean. The excessive skritchiness of the bristles confirmed my hunch so it'll take some time to break in.
The VDH soap performed predictably and smelled very nice with a bit of British Sterling cologne dribbled on top of the puck to soak while I was showering.
The Sheraton is probably a good candidate for replating. It feels as if the lack of a shiny surface causes the razor to want to drag a bit but as long as I keep it wet it seems to get the job done.
Finally, the elusive and mysterious SP Blue. After shaving with the SP Black I've been extremely curious about this blade that every vendor lists as "unavailable" or "out of stock". I could tell you where I got this blade but then I'd have to kill you so my source will remain anonymous. The shave was very smooth despite the razor so I'm anxious to use it in my FatBoy which comes up next in rotation.

hot water wash with nivea men's
    vdh badger brush
    Williams mug shave soap
    gem g bar

good shave today. Williams lathered ok. I let it soak in a little water during preshave. it dries quick, but Williams always does. I used the last of my se razors. the ultra mod looking g bar. it did ok with a new blade. it is the mildest off my three se's. three and a half passes today. dfs- just a little ruff under my chin.
    finish with aqua velva

    Pre: Shave Secret
    Brush: GBS Pure Badger
    Soap: TOBS Coconut
    Razor: Gillette TTO Black handle
    Blade: Topaz (2)
    Splash: Wal-Mart Witch hazel 86%
    Post: Dove +Men ASB
    After: Aqua Velva Musk

Good shave today! The Topaz blade seemed noticeably less sharp but still performed well. Love the lather of the TOBS Coconut. The scent it nice also. Speaking of lather, did you notice I used a different bowl? Probably not LOL yesterday I stopped by Wally World and picked up some store brand witch hazel, some Aqua Velva Musk (didn’t know they had it, BONUS!), and a black plastic salsa bowl (only $1.50) that I had seen mentioned on The Shave Den as an ideal bowl...

SOTD June 23 - Menthol Monday

    Prep: hot shower
Razor: G. Wostenholm & Son "CANUCK"
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Margaritas in the Arctic
    Passes: 3 (WTG, XTG)
    Post: witch hazel

75 slower laps on the strop cleared up my skipping issue from yesterday, but there was still some tugging...
I ran into some scheduling issues this morning and got kicked out of the bathroom right after lathering up for my first pass. Having the lather sit on my face added a little bit to the menthol sensation, which was nice. I only went with two passes on my neck, WTG and XTG but added an extra XTG to my face. The extra XTG (chin out to ears) got me a very nice DFS, with one small nick.

Second day with the Petal Pusher's Dandy Candy moustache wax. I did get the wax softer today which helped with application, still not sold on the hold ability of this wax.

    MONDAY
Peaceful day-off from work, quiet morning shave…
In honor of Menthol-Mondays, M-Bomb in the Petal Pushers Puck. First shave ever with the newly-Honed Henckel (whoa, enough of the alliteration already!).
A very smooth right-handed shave! The rather pungent scent of the PP soap is milder when lathered—some in my household found the scent of the dry puck off-putting—and I enjoyed the fragrance. Outdoorsy and herbal.
    Overall, a first-rate shaving experience!

    Have a blessed Monday, everyone!
