  1. After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

    Shavemac 22mm silvertip
    Brevete/ Dorco301
    MWF
    Lucky Tiger AS
    Ava Luxe 'Shisa' EdP

Another extremely close shave with this razor and blade combo, again with only minimal discomfort. It's a trade off I'm willing to make on some days.....the little less comfortable shave than usual I mean. Yeah, I guess effortless shaves get boring after a while, and it's fun to change things up sometimes. Heh, this razor would be waaaay too aggressive for my daily tool of choice, but it's a kick to actually use something that looks so weird.

BBS results, with just a few tiny weepers that went away after the cold water splash.

Every now and then everything "just works"...

Today was one of those days, and I used my very first razor/blade DE combination for a smooth, perfect BBS one pass(!) shave!

The sting from the Proraso Green splash was awsome! A shave to die for!

Result: Tried doing a hot towel with lather underneath while in the shower both yesterday and today. I'm not sure it helped any - I didn't notice any more softening then my regular prep. I will try it again tomorrow to be sure though. Also realized my straight shave WTG wasn't fully WTG, tweaked it a bit and it did seem a little better. The subsequent XTG didn't go as well. Finished with the Tech. Face not feeling good. I'm going to give the straight a rest for a little bit, come back at it fresh....

    Ming Shi TTO/7 AM
Proraso Aloe & Green Tea S/S
    Arko Aqua A/S gel
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Acqua di Selva cologne

My 7 AM blade is just about dead now--it gave me a good shave, but I had to struggle for it. This Proraso soap in the white bowl is fantastic. It smells beautiful, the lather is rich, and there is plenty of menthol in it, and it takes much better care of my skin than the green-bowl version. ;) :D

Decided to go with my pre-brush life favorite shave cream, Molle. This is still the most lubricating shave cream I have found and it provided me with a BBS after two and a half passes. Top 'o the morning to ya.

    Knotty Badger Best
    TSD Neroli Soap-Cream
    TSD Neroli Aftershave Milk

The Fasan gave a great shave. One thing I was not expecting is how much different the Bakelite feels. Of course it is a very light razor, but you can feel the difference on your face between the metal and the Bakelite, so I could really feel the blade. At first I took that as a sign of extreme aggression, but it was a very pleasant close shave with no irritation.
