    Razor: '68 Slim @6
    Blade: '83 Gillette Platinum-Plus (NOS) day 1
    Soap: Col. Conk bay rum
    A/S: Old Spice

These are really becoming my favorite blades. I've got about a year and a third's worth. MUST FIND MORE.
  7. Friday!

Merkur Progress / Swedish Gillette blade
    Rooney Alibaba 3 (large)
Taylor of Old Bond Street Mr. Taylors cream
Thayer's Original Witch Hazel; Gentlemen's Refinery AS Balm
    Creed Private Collection (vintage) Tabarome

I'm glad I decided against selling the Alibaba 3. Its smallish knot and tallish loft, combined with the resilient Heritage bristles, form a brush with more flo-thru than any of the other Heritage collection brushes (IMO). It's a great all-around brush for creams or hard soaps.

  12. Friday 3/27 . . .

    • [*]Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleaning Cream & Hot Towel
[*]Brush: The "Ever Roddy" an Ever Ready 300 refurbished with a silvertip badger knot by "The Knotty Badger"
      [*]Cream: SCS Smoke & Beads
[*]Razor: '02 Kampfe Bros Star lather catcher style razor
[*]Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated SE
[*]Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
[*]A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner and SCS Avocado Oil ASB
[*]EDT: SCS Smoke & Beads EDT

[*]Result: This is Friday the 27th but my shave was like it was meant to be done on Friday the 13th. First off got too much water while making lather. Yep, I did it with SCS creams that are known to need a lot of water. Had to add more cream to get a good lather. Then I got a few nicks on my first pass. An especially bad on on the right side of my head behind my ear. That one was just plain carelessness. The others were, I think due to a bad Pella blade. Nicks and a couple weepers appeared on my neck as well. Did nothing different with my passes. Will give the same razor/blade combo another shot tomorrow to be sure it was the blade.
  13. Friday 3/27

    • LaToja S/C
    • Gillette L.H. Super Adj.
    • 7OCB
    • Thayer's Alcohol Free Original
    • LaToja A/S

Result: nice, easy 2 pass shave. LaToja cream rocks, and the first time with the A/S was good, a nice combo.

    Omega Silvertip
    Ming Shi TTO/new Sharp
Michaud shaving stick (vintage from France)
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Nesher Man A/S
    Quorum EDT

Another antique shaving stick that performs great. France had some excellent shaving stuff at one time. This stick lathers like a wild beast. The scent is nothing special, just soapy and clean. This morning's shave was very enjoyable. ;) :D
  17. After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

    Shavemac 22mm silvertip
    fatboy/feather
    TGQ coconut cream SS
    Lucky Tiger AS
i Profumi di Firenze 'Ambra del Nepal' EdP

Very fun shave this morning with Colleen's soap.............a rare coconut treat. Yeah, I have to ration this stuff sparingly, since I can't replace it when gone.
