Not impressed with the Skin Bracer. Face was moisturizing until the AS? Not much menthol either:( Worth a buck though!

    Saturday...

    Razor: '68 Slim @6
    Blade: '83 Gillette Platinum-Plus (NOS) day 2
    Cream: KMF Unscented
    A/S: Clubman bay rum

A great shave indeed, but I don't think the Slim gives as good a shave as the Red tip with this blade. Not without venturing into the danger sone of 7-8-9. I may give 7 a try tomorrow.

Saturday...prior to dinner at one of our favorite haunts:

EJ Chatsworth / Gillette 7 O'clock Permasharp (green box)
    Plisson 24 HMW
    Castle Forbes Lavender cream
Bourbon Parfums EdC; Castle Forbes Lavender Balm
    Knize Forest

The Gillette Permasharp/Chatsworth combination proved to be very challenging. This was shave #1 for the Permasharp, and it seemed extremely sharp, particularly in the Chatsworth. The CF cream didn't seem to help much. Although it produced a good lather, I wasn't at all satisfied with its lubricity.

    • 6/8 Wostenholm Celebrated IXL
    • LH Super Adj.
    • 7OCB
    • Thayer's A/F Original
    • Sp. Floid Mild

Result: First shave with the Wostie since I got it back from re-honing (actually honing it sharper). Much better shave with it this time around, although I definitely still need a lot of work on my technique. I'm just not getting it yet... Not really digging the Sp. Floid, either....first time with that though, so it's too soon to pass final judgement...

Wilkinson Sword SS is unbelievably well-scented.

Suddenly I'm back into heavier razors - not light ones.

So I love my Merkur LH and HD and probably will appropriate a 38C.

    J Peterman 1903 SC

    Storer 'Monk' EdT

Excellent shave today......this Peterman stuff is pretty darn fun to use. Very slick, with a dense lather that even smells good! The skin care part is also very nice. Yeah, I'm gonna have to reorder this soon.
