Guys, unless you can handle hard-core, intense menthol freezing which lingers and lingers after a shave, do NOT attempt to use a set-up like this. Even the Neutrogena facial wash is pretty cold, especially if you leave it on your face for a couple of minutes. The Yeti Snot soap has a freezing sensation which kicks in as you start lathering up, and it causes your eyes to tear. It becomes stronger and stronger as your shave progresses and a cold water rinse might be painful. The Diana Sport balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo are ungodly cold - much too much for many to withstand. ;) :D

I'm dumb. I've been a member since December 2013 and have been trying to sort out what SoS: means to no avail. Anyone?

I started my week today. Merkur 1904 w/ Astra SP. And a new soap: Petal Pushers Fancies Coconut.

I need to work out the water ratio a wee bit with the soap, but boy is this stuff slick and the scent is just right.

I'll be shaving tomorrow morning with a new straight razor I acquired. I spent some time today honing & polishing it up for the St. Patrick's Day debut. :happy088:

    '62 Gillette Slim
    Voskhod Teflon Coated (3)

    Thayers Cucumber WH
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

The Parker black badger brush did a good job lathering the cella shave cream. Two passes and touch ups with the '62 Gillette Slim and Voskhod Teflon Coated blade left me near BBS. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. Now, I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Monday:
hot shower w/TOBS Sandalwood bar soap
    Maggard Cherry Sandalwood Vanilla PSO
    Gillette Contract Tech 2 passes
    Feather Hi Stainless Platinum (3)
    Omega boar
    Wm Neumann Heartwood soap
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    Wm Neumann Heartwood AS

2nd time using the Wm Neumann and my lather was a bit on the thin side same as before. I put a little warm water on top of the puck, screwed the lid back down, and placed the tin in the warm sink water while I showered. I also used my stiffest brush (same as before) hoping to pick up the maximum amount of product but still came away with a less than satisfactory result so I'll need to keep working at it because I really like the scent.

1st time with the Contract Tech and it gave a predictable shave though it seemed to feel ever so slightly different than my younger Techs so I'm curious if it's just me or if there were slight engineering changes in the head over time.

SOTD March 17 -- Blade safari day 42

    Prep: hot shower
Razor: WW2 Gillette Khaki with ball end handle
    Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium(day 2)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Col Conk lime
    Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG)
    Post: Nivea Men cool kick

I almost took today off to let my face heal up from yesterday's shave, but where's the fun in that? Today was an improvement. I still got some irritation, but no cuts. The Col Conk lathered up like a boss although there wasn't a lot left over.

    St. Tabactrick's Day!
My neck is still a bit sore from yesterday, so I went with my favorite soap, and fewer passes. I got a nice DFS and my face feels much better. Just two passes on my neck, three on my face and I am well on my way to healing. I used Synergy Coconut Bay Butter Balm after my Krampert's Finest Bay Rum AS, and the two pair quite nicely in face feel and scent. My Tabac EDT rounds out the scent.

    Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Prep: Burt's Bees sensitive face wash
    Soap: Tabac!
    Brush: HIS
    Razor: iKon Shavecraft 101
    Blade: Astra SP (1)
AS: Krampert's Finest Bay Rum, Synergy Cocnut Bay Butter Balm
    EDT: Tabac!

    Menthol Monday:

Prep: Hot shower, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (6, 7, 8)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Lucky Tiger Menthol Vanishing Cream
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

Happy St. Patrick's Day. Ample prep and careful attention to detail got me another BBS shave today. The menthol combination was very refreshing, and continues to chill my cheeks even as I type this up. The Bic is showing almost no signs of wear and tear yet, although I managed to reopen a weeper or two from yesterday on my final pass.

An Irish blessing for the day:

May joy and peace surround you
    Contentment latch your door
And happiness be with you now
    and bless you evermore.

    Hi my dear Friends,

    here is my Birthday shave:

    1. Prep: hot shower
    2. Soap: PannaCrema Nostalgia
    3. Brush: Frank Shaving 28mm Synthetic
    4. Razor: Fatip Piccolo
    5. Blade: HEMA
    6. Aftershave: Myrsol Agua Balsamica

I LOVE the Nostalgia from PannaCrema. A lovely scent with oranges in the front and cloves in the back. A little bit like Bay Rum. But more with oranges in the front. Very very nice. The Frank Shaving brush creates rich, thick lather and is soooo soft on the skin. Wonderful. The Fatip Piccolo is very thoroughly but a gentle shaver. Wow. Nearly BBS in 2 passes + a little touch ups. Today i used the Myrsol Agua Balsamica the first time and i´m really impressed. Smells very nice on the skin and gives an absolute outstanding skin feel. It cools the first minute or two and after that it calmes and soothes the skin. Highly regarded!!!

So,this is it for now.Enjoy your time and your shaves.

    Greetings
    Thorsten
