Thank you Douglas. Arlington reminds me a lot of 4711. Not as slick as I prefer, but a good all-around cream.

    Razor: Gillette Guard
Blade: Gillette Single Edge Cart. (2)
    Pre Shave: Homemade
    Lather: Proraso Green
    AS: Aqua Velva/Afta
    Brush: VDH Badger
    Newspaper Date: Dec. 9,1943

Again, with the plastic single edge cartridge razor and the fabulous Proraso Cream, I managed a BBs+. A 2 pass, WTG/ATG with clean ups after each pass. Smooooth, clean, close shave that mimics the past, almost perfect efforts. Happy Camper here wishing for the same for all. God Bless and have a nice weekend.

    Saturday morning:

    C. W. Beggs Facial Wash
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Astra day 6
    Gada Cool Mint SC
    Lucky Tiger AS Cream
Reef Point Fougere Santal AS Splash

A change in my choice of cream because I need some extra skincare. This Gada Cool Mint is so nice - a great scent, tons of lather, and really chilly. It's also filled to the brim with protection against dryness and irritation. I'm doing a PIF on the South African Master Shave forum and this is one of the items I'm sending. The rest of tomorrow's setup remains as it is!

Two new razors, CV Heljestrand on loan from @twhite, and a New SC. Head shave with the New was a very comfortable two pass BBS. The wedge blade on the Heljestrand seemed quite sharp and smooth, no problem ATG on all but the chin. Much looking forward to gaining some experience with this one.[IMG]

Nice shave with one of my birth year Russians - very sharp. However, the STIZ seems less smooth compared to the ZTV and I’m wondering if it would change if I finish on a different stone? :signs002:

    Hot shower
Cyril R. Salter Mint Shave Cream
    Razorock Plissoft
Heirloom Gillette Milord, VDH Blade (4)
    3 passes, touch up
Rinse, alum, witch hazel, Neutrogena Triple Protect Face Lotion

first time with this soap. It lathered like a dream. Then I dumped the bowl and brush into the water. Instead of starting over, I tried to salvage what I had. That may have been a mistake. Terrible shave. It may have been the soap itself, the watery lather, or I may have pushed the blade one shave too far. Lots of stubble, redness, and weepers.

    Proraso Pre Shave
    L'OCCITANE Cade Shaving Soap
    Jayaruh #105
    Wade & Butcher 5/8
    CWR
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The L'OCCITANE Cade Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #105 two-band badger brush. I did two passes with the Wade & Butcher 5/8 Razor and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    WEDNESDAY'S SHAVE
    20180302_155042.jpg

    Prep: pre shave soap mix
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
    Blade: Gillette Rubie
    Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft
    Soap: Wild West Wichita
    Post: Arko Maxium Comfort balm

Refreshing shave the other day. Have found this soap works best for me when I use a little less water, usually I dump as much water in my lather as possible. Scent of Wichita is rose with a bunch of other notes, sophisticated blend and soap has a pink hue which is cool. Finished off with Arko Maxium Comfort balm which I haven't used in a while, excellent balm for the price.

    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20180302_153103.jpg

Prep: shower with C&E Vetiver Juniper bath soap, pre shave soap mix
    Razor: Icon X3, Maggard handle
    Blade: Pol-Silver
    Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft
    Soap: Gustafsons Blue Bayou
    Post: SC Fortitude balm

Amazing BBS shave this afternoon. This soap made by Square One Soapworks is highly underrared. Excellent lather quality, similar to Shannon's Soaps, thick creamy lather with no bubbles. Scent of Blue Bayou is lavender and cedarwood, fresh and clean. Did touch ups with just left over soap, residual slickness is the one aspect of this soap that stands out IMO, post shave is very nice as well. Finished off with SC Fortitude balm. Hope everyone is doing well and getting great shaves!
