The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #436 2-band Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gebr. Becker 5/8 straight gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Witch Hazel and Pinaud Clubman After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Not too much to say - it’s snowing like hell again today but I really enjoyed my shave with the Williams Menthol cream. Smooth as silk from three passes. The Prep and the Max Refreshing aftershave were both a great finish. The Givenchy Gentleman was a gift from my former secretary a LONG time ago and I enjoy wearing it every now and then.

Wishing you beautiful people a good weekend - be well and stay safe![IMG]

    Monkeylord The Lather Lord

Chinese EJ89 clone DE loaded with an mystery De blade that came with it in the box.
Semogue 2000 (partially tamed by wide rubber band in the bottom od the knot).
    Palmolive Cool SC
    Ralon AS.

This is my second shave in the last 6 months or so,the first being 3 days ago.
I found I rather enjoy my re lapses to wet shaving, especially the first shave. Removing a few months worth of growth in a single stroke with a shavette is a satisfaction one rarely gets.

After a long hot bath with a good book (I know it isn't the manliest of pass times but my back loves soaking in boiling water and so do I ). Of course while I was soaking the brush did the same.

I tried bowl lathering, for old times sake (I loved mountains of lather), and remembered what a lather hog the Semogue 2000 was. It was my favorite brush until I got the 1800, it's big and hungry, splays a bit too much for my liking but when those split ends soak up they are soft as a dream on your face.
A pinch more cream and a little less water , a few whisks in and old "Lather Lord" wakes and I whip up more than enough for a three pass standard.
Palmolive gives a rich, thick slick lather , with a nice freeze that numbs the face just a little bit (until you wash your face with cold water and it's off to the artic).

The knock off EJ89 is a wonderful razor, smooth, efficient and not prone to bitting even when out of the game for a while.
Three passes later wtg, xtg, atg (if I remember the terminology) and I'm without a red dot on my baby butt smooth face.

Finishing off with a cold water rinse and a splash of Croatia's cheapest Ralon, reminding of the original Pitralon recipe but with a burnt vinyl , chemical disaster and camphor scent to it. But after a few minutes it dissipates in to something akin to a pleasant aroma. The smell aside the feel it leaves you with on your face after the initial alcohol burn (actually I love a little burn),is astringent and cooling pairing wonderfully with the Palmolive Cool. It is the cheapest and my favorite AS i ever used , not based on scent of course.

I love wet shaving even if it is a for a few weeks each year.

Obviously my skills with the camera are sub par by any standards, but that cannot be helped. Sorry for that and sorry for any possible mistakes I made in the post, haven't wrote anything in english in some time .[IMG]

For tomorrow(Sunday, 5th)-I'll have another go with the Clubman Classic Barber Shave Cream(brushless). I hope I do better with it tomorrow-otherwise I'll have a decision to make. I never before chucked a Clubman product. Actually, I did....the Clubman Shaving Cream...twice, because something just under the top snapped. That's why I tried the Brushless Classic Barber Shave Cream. All other goos I tried didn't have the Clubman problem(the snapping persuasion). It's great goo, but it waa just a nasty problem for me. Overall, I've been happy with Clubman since I first tried it as a teenager(the aftershave).
