RAZOR: Sabi 3 Piece Extra Heavyweight - Gold tone (4 inch handle, 4 ounces)- this razor remains my GO TO DE razor.
BLADE: Dorco Platinum ST-300 - probably 7 or 8 shaves on this blade. I got rid of this blade after the shave.
PREP: hot water shower with Zest soap- followed by application of bloom water from AOS Shave Cream
PRE SHAVE: - Tri Coastal Design White Birch & Tobacco Shave Butter.
BRUSH: Shea Moisture Badger Brush - black badger knot.
SHAVE CREAM: The Art of Shaving - Lavender Essential Oil - for Sensitive Skin - face lather
POST SHAVE: Hot water rinse followed by application of CRYSTAL deodorant (deodorant stone - potassium alum)
    AFTER SHAVE: Clubman Lilac Vegetal
BALM: Maison the Collection Vanilla Lavender Lotion
    SABI_ExtraHeavyWeight_SheaMoisture_AOS_Lavender.jpg
Another great 3-pass BBS with this razor. Still my "go to" even though the BOSS I recently acquired is challenging for that spot.
I have become very proficient at face lathering this AOS Shave cream. I can produce enough for 3+ passes with one 15 second brush load.
    SABI_AOS_Face_Lather.jpg
Today, I noticed a prickly feeling from the brush, and a mild burning sensation on my cheeks. I wonder if it was from the shave butter/AOS combo.
Followed the shave with an application of the alum stone to be sure it was not the razor/technique. No problems there.

Got another burn with the Lilac Vegetal aftershave, and again with the Maison Lotion. But my face cooled down quickly once outside.
All is good. Have a great week!

Sample F provided plenty of cushioning for a good shave. Two passes with a bit of touch up for a very smooth and comfortable BBS shave.

    Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: GEM stainless
    Razor: GEM Pushbutton
    Brush: Omega Hi synthetic
    Lather: Country Club Cahaba Blues
Post: Witch hazel, Jeeves of Hudson Street Tobacco Bay Leaf aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, XTG

Nice and easy shave. Cahaba Blues is top notch soap. Don't believe it's made any longer which is too bad. In any event, terrific shave.

    Have a great day!

SOTD: Lovely morning shave using this vintage heavy 7/8" wedge slab of Sheffield steel from Marshes & Shepherd (ca1840s), Soap Commander's Amber & Lavender 'Devotion' soap, Omega 48 Pro boar brush, and Fine's 'Lavender Pour Hommes' aftershave. Somewhere in this particular razor's history, a metal end cap was added to bolster the splitting wedge end. Overall, the M&S is in pretty darn good shape for a 175+year old shaver. Blade is absolutely 'killer' sharp. Have a great Monday, gents!

First DE shave before work this morning. Went rather well with my trusty rocket HD and going back to TOBS cream for ease of use. Also went back to a 7 O'Clock Yellow - might be my favourite blade so far.

    Bulldog Face Wash
    JR #168
    TOBS Sandalwood cream
    Gillette Rocket HD
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow
    A little alum, and
    Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm
    Paul Smith Extreme aftershave

Using up old aftershave on workdays can be fun too! Enjoy your evening gentlemen (and ladies)

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Pharaoh's Dreamsicle Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #18 silvertip badger brush. I did two passes with the Bunny, V3 Razor with a Personna blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pharaoh's Dreamsicle AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
