It snowed here today, so Dickens seemed fitting.

    Tabac
    Jayaruh #292 HMW
    Hoffritz OC Travel Razor
    Gillette Super Blue Blade
    CWR
    Tabac

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Tabac Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #292 HMW brush. I did two passes with the Hoffritz OC Travel Razor with a Gillette Super Blue Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Gem Blue Star blade
    VDH/TGN Silver Tip brush
    VeraSoapCo Peppermint SS
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
    Clubman Reserve Brandy Spice A/S

Skipped a couple of days so the stubble was pretty thick. No problem though and a fine shave was had. I'll be using the Starling a few more days and will post my impressions next week. Now go enjoy your day folks.

All right, you used Pears! That soap is among the products advertised at the same website I purchased my Rise Super Foam, Rise Cooling A.S. Balm nd the small tube shave "gels".

I really didn't have a point-I was just commenting that whenever I check the Risegrooming website, one of their products is Pears Soap(like your Pars Glycerine). Burt perhaps you got it from somewhere else. I see some at Dollar Tree and Rite Aid.

Aaaaah....that explains it! I am in the UK and its pretty easy to find. It actually performs well as a cheap preshave soap

Due to OCtober and trying out loaners it's been quite a while since I've used the General.
I won't make that mistake again, it's no way to treat an old friend.
    Happy Shaving one and all.

Cool razor! I can't help thinking that the top cap and 'hinge' system on it very closely resembles a Cooper MonoBilt.

There were a lot of variations on this theme. The modern Gillette Super Click flip.top goes back to Henry Gaisman c .1928.
