    Greetings,

    Early morning shave.

It's been a while since i used the Kent/MWF soap, always provides a superb lather. If I had to choose a favourite shaving soap, then the Kent/MWF would be a very strong contender. My love of 'The Fat' is a burning eternal flame of lanolin goodness. A superb shaving soap.

The Parker 94R is a sturdy hefty efficient lady that holds no prisoners to face stubble.

Everything in my shave set up this morning worked together superbly.

An enjoyable 2 pass + pick-ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

The Tabac Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #423 2-band Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the PAA Bakelite Slant Razor and the Nacet Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    11/1 SOTD:
New razor, new soap. This will be a long post.
I got my Yaqi Mellon SLOC head yesterday and put it on a Razorock Bulldog handle.
The soap was Tabac, new formulation
    Blade was a Feather
    Brush: Echolly synthetic
Preshave: Pete & Pedro preshave oil
Postshave: PAA alum block followed with Nivea Sensitive Soothing Postshave Balm.

Prior to now I had never used an open comb, much less a double open comb. This Yaqi Mellon head looks scary but it is very mild. I didn’t feel like I was at risk of cutting myself. I have heard that sharp blades like Feathers work great in milder razors and that was absolutely the case here. This Yaqi Mellon head was perfect for someone like me who has difficulty shaving the chin and neck. It is a great buffing razor. I do feel some irritation and I’m not sure why that is the case, but overall I loved the shave I got from this razor and blade combo.

For those of you who use SLOC heads like this, how often do you rinse them out per pass? Based on what I have read, I was concerned about whether rinsing it out would affect the self lubricating capabilities, so I didn’t rinse out except between passes.

Now, as for the Tabac: I had a Tabac shave stick for a short time. I purchased it mainly to see if I would like the scent. I did. But I didn’t have a lot of room in my shave den for it and so I PIF’d it after a couple of uses. I decided to go ahead and try it again and this time I bought a refill puck and put it in one of the 4-ounce containers you can get from Stirling Soap. I got a puck with the new tallow free formulation. This soap is VERY thirsty. I did not soak it while I was in the shower. I will do that going forward. It whips up a decent lather, probably takes a little longer than the old tallow based formula did. The scent is still the same. Performance was good but again, it needs a lot of water to make a good lather.

Razor : Razorock Game Changer.84 - Mfg 2018>, excellent tame mid range, made from 316 SS and machined very accurately with excellent QC, I use the extra wide Kai blade in this razor with excellent results. A joy to use with the right blade.
Blade : Kai SS (8)- Sharp & smoooth with excellent longevity, this blade is one of my top tier blades and gives my milder razors a nice bump up in efficentcy, the blade is wider than a standard Gillette blade by 9/1000 or .0045 thousands of inch per side for more blade feel(blade exposure. Beats shimming a razor any day and has excellent performance.
Soap : Cyril R Salter Indian Sandalwood, nice scented Sandalwood with excellent lather qualities. Nice post shave skin feel.
Brush : Yaqi "Mysterious space" 24mm timber wolf knot, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Proraso red sandal wood with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] excellent shave with my RR GC.84 with a Kai extra wide blade.

    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Canadian Tech/Astra Green day 7
    Williams Menthol SC
Nip Man ASB Alt Innsbruck AS Splash

A quickie but a really goodie - last week I received a backup tube of Williams Menthol which is one of my top favourite creams so now I can afford to use this one as often as I want. The scent is so beautiful, the lather is so thick, rich, slick, and protective, the menthol sensation is at a good middle of the road level, and the skincare is excellent. The Nip Man balm has such a nice minty scent, it gives great soothing as well as moisturizing along with a pleasant cooling effect, and do I ever LOVE the Alt Innsbruck aftershave. I had only enough time for two passes but I still managed to get a helluva nice, close shave!

    See y’all tomorrow![IMG]
