Did I ever freeze my face off this morning - this Citrus Melody soap is about as intensely mentholated as any of the Stirling Glacials. The scent is lovely, the lather is awesome, there’s lots of slickness, and it’s so skin friendly. The Gold Bond moisturizer has no shortage of menthol either not to mention how soothing it is. The Citrus Melody aftershave is another menthol atom bomb and its scent pairs beautifully with the Eau Sauvage fragrance. Three passes gave me a fantastic BBS shave that was so pleasurable!

SE SOTD, Friday, November 29th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Romulus SE 316 SSP with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2023>, mild to tame mid range. Excellent machining, finish and simple design. One of my best SE I have and enjoy using it a lot.
Blade : Kai Captain Titian mild pink (8) Sharp and smooth with excellent longevity in my Romulus razor.
Soap : Yaqi Musketeer rapier, very addictive scented soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Sagrada Familia" 22mm G4 synthetic knot. Brush is named after a famous Cathedral in Barcelona Spain. Nice little brush to scrub with also with some back bone.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel beard cleanse + Yaqi Musketeer rapier + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus SE razor with a Kai CTMP blade.

Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Pears Transparent bar Soap.
Brush: Yaqi 26mm Rainbow Brown Synthetic. (Faux Horse)
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Blue's goat milk Shaving Soap.
Blade: Treet Dura Sharp (Carbon) Blue pack. (D1)
Razor: Parker 87R.
Razor: Treet Swift II Platinum. (Head) (D2)

Post:

(Face & Head Shave)

A new eclectic shave set up to start the Weekend. A close comfortable face & head shave to end November wonderfully.

Throughout the month focus the Parker 87R & 94R/Treet Dura Sharp (Carbon) Blue Pack blades duo has provided me with consistently close comfortable shaves taught me how to get the best from both razors. I highly recommend doing a month focus with just one or two razors, by doing so your shaving technique improves multitude, and appreciate razors that you have infrequently used.

Earlier in the month I had an over due ruthless den clean out of DE razors which where the Parker 99R 89R, & Muhle R89 + two Chinese plastic handle "Tech Type" head clones of which I have now passed on to family & friends who I know will put them to good use.

I'm now quite content with the razors I have remaining in my collection, and don't have any desire to purchase anymore in the distant future.

For my December focus I had all intention of using the Merkur 34C HD & Edwin Jagger DE 89 (Kelvin) but changed my mind at the last minute and decided to use & alternate my Chinese super-speed clones the Baili BD177 Rose Gold TTO & Yintal 9306-I TTO instead paired up with the Dorco Prime Platinum blades for my face shaves, & continue to use a variety of Cartridge razors for my head shaves.

Finishing the shave of with a few small squirts of Milton Lloyd Essentials No 15 EdP to the pulse points.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.

Do I ever love this Gada Cool Mint cream. It’s from Lebanon and it’s so damn cheap, it has a beautiful lemony/minty scent, just a small dab on both cheeks gives a tremendous amount of thick, rich, slick lather, it has a nice menthol sensation, and it’s so soothing because of the chamomile in it. The Nip Man balm is also very cooling as well as moisturizing, and the Aqua Velva Sport aftershave smells great. Three passes gave me an absolutely awesome BBS shave which I enjoyed to the max!

The LaToja Shaving Stick lathered well with the Heldtite Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick J3 Golden 500 razor and the Schick Proline B20 Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Granddad's Blend After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
