Wednesday Allen & Son - Simpson 57 - BS Maca Root - Alum - Old Spice Whitewater Great shave, touched this one up on a crox strop and had the best shave from it ever. I'm liking crox a lot at the moment.
Wednesday 9 November Well here is the "morning shave" for my first night shift (again). Again in the hotel bathroom series, my picture, me and ducky. Hot shower, proraso preshave balm. Arko Stick Omega boar travel brush face lather Gillette Milord, w/ Gillette 7O'Clcok blue (D2) double secret stainless perma-ginsu-sharp or some sort of name. Billions of names, you think they would pick somehting a little different to keep from confusing me. Alcolado Glacial and Nivea sensitive balm Stayed up all last night, and slept thought the day for todays night shift. This was another very good shave. The Arko stick really works well for me, great lather and skincare. This was a three pass easily DFS today. The Arko will remain on my travel list for the season, its doing a wonderful job. Well off to find some coffee and "breakfast" before heading in. The ducky wishes you all a good night. Keep thinking of those Ta-Ta's.
No. Not sure on the year, but it has a straight bar. And it certainly got a lot of love before it came into my possession. Most of the finish is worn off. Not a ding or a dent on her, and she opens and closes smoothly. She can be a bit mild, depending on the blade I feed her, but paired with an Astra SP, she really does me right.
A Lemon and Lime Day. Today I recreated yesterday's shave, changing only the shaving cream. I needed to know if it is the Barbasol, the Ladas, or both that gave me a rough shave yesterday. And first the batting order: Assorted Hot and Cold Wraps EBC Preshave with 30 minute marinade Vulvix 404 Mixed Palmolive Lemon EJ89 Ladas (3) Witch Hazel TSD Bourbon Vanilla Milk Pinaud Lime Sec Today's shave had a theme, why was yesterday's not as smooth. The Palmolive Lemon was a big improvement over the Barbasol, which was so bad it is being returned. But I checked my notes on past Ladas shaves, and smooth gliding and ease of shaving action aren't happenning with this blade/the 89/ and my face. I worked hard through a multi pass shave with touchups, managed to get to BBS, and ripped the Ladas out and replaced it with a Gillette Blue for tomorrow. I think the Blues and the Yellows will be my go to blades for this razor. At any rate, I am clean shaven, with valuable lessons learned. I declare this a clean and educational shave.
Do you get to keep the Ducky or do you have to leave it behind when you leave? I say take the duck, it makes for a good photo mascot.

Back in the mid 60's I use to use 1/2 bottle at a time when chasing the girls. I like you have not worn it in a very long time. I use to like the Leather and the Leather Lime. Good stuff.
Haha, man Johnny my Jr/High School days were Brut and English Leather overdoses.... I didn't regularly use anything more expensive till college when I was gifted a bottle of Quasar; awesome stuff.
I keep the ducky. The last one I gave to my daughter. She loved it, in fact its still in the bathtub.

Thursday, November 10 TTO Week Gem Micromatic OC GEM (SS, PTFE) (d1) Preshave Oil Blend TSD Amber Ylang Ylang Vulfix 404 Grosvenor Lucky Tiger Aspen Focused on "no pressure" to the max, and got rewarded into BBS territory. I think the Micromatic OC is such a beast and so heavy it requires special care in the "no pressure" department. I am used to holding my razors near the end of the handle to let head weight do the work. Not a good idea with the Micromatic as it results in way too much pressure. Using a more distributed grip, and imagining a zero gravity shave den chamber, "no pressure" took on a new meaning this morning. I am beginning to really like this beast.
