I never thought I could push any blade for this many shaves, but the Rapira miraculously gave me a final really nice shave. It is going in the garbage tomorrow morning, so I can re-load with a new one. As always, the Nord-ost stuff gives me the best of everything when I use it. ;) :D

There should be enough Musgo from this tube for three more shaves, maybe four. I'm trying to use up some of the products I have open, but legitimately, without wasting any.

Well, I got 8 solid shaves from my last Racer blade. The 8th shave tugged and pulled a bit but got away without any irritation or razor burn. I'm hoping this current blade will perform just as well, if I can get 7 out of it I'll be very pleased.

Soap: Prairie Creations Peppermint with Menthol
    Brush: Edwin Jagger Best Badger
    Razor: Edwin Jagger DE86
    Blade: Lord Platinum Class

My allergies are still bothering me so I pulled out the PC Peppermint and Menthol shave stick again. Wow...this stuff really clears the sinuses and is a good shave soap to boot. The Edwin Jagger DE86 loaded with a Lord Platinum provided an excellent shave. A splash of Mr. Taylor and I am ready to go.

    Razor: EJ Chatsworth
    Blade: Treet Durasharp
Brush: Omega 646232 "Vivaldi" Artificial Badger
    Cream: Speick
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Speick Splash

I tried another new (to me) blade this morning. I hadn't used a carbon steel blade since the very early 1960's, I think, and my expectations for this blade weren't very high. However, I was very pleasantly surprised to get a BBS shave. I will have an idea of its longevity after I have used it a few times. I thought I detected a slight tingle after the shave, but the witch hazel and Speick calmed it down completely. The Treet Durasharp is a very inexpensive blade and might be a good everyday blade pending the outcome of future shaves with it.

    Brush: Frank Shaving, Best
Razor: BRW ~ Gillette Twist, with BRW Bull Mastiff
    Blade: 7AM
    Balm: Cade Youth Concentrate

This is a very interesting razor.. it started as a cheap feeling Twist with it's unique TTO just under the head. This design allowed Gillette to opt for a really inexpensive plastic handle. But Bob's Razor Works added a slimmed down version of his awesome Bull Mastiff Deluxe which completely transforms the experience. Sadly, it's pre- magnet in the butt of the handle. That said, it is still is essentially a SuperSpeed head and that means... mild shave. Though it is truly unique and few examples exist, AFAIK, the shave may be too mild for me. What I love is the slim, elongate handle and I may reach out to CoonCatBob to replace my regular Bull Mastiff Deluxe with a long handle...

As the weather cools, I am looking for a better AS Balm. I thought L'Occitane's Cade Youth Concentrate would work.. but it's a let-down. The scent is so-so, it doesn't spread all that well and the moisturizing is mediocre, at best.

    Razor:
BRW ~ Gillette Twist, with BRW Bull Mastiff
    Blade: 7AM, day three
    Balm: Cade

Well, not sure if it's the Shark Blade or the mild-mannered Twist that is leaving me feeling unsatisfied. At some point, I want to stop treating every shave like a trial and settle in on just a few good combination's that work consistently. I do feel the BRW TTO Twist might be too easy on my face. AoS was the shave cream that got me taking my first step away from carts. It was a completely reliable cream when I used it brushless and it whipped up awesome with the Kronos.. But it was okay.. just okay. Maybe a scented version would move me more?

Comment from my 7 year old daughter as she stood beside me at the bathroom sink, rolling MWF between her fingers...

"Dad, are you going for a BBS today or a DFS??"
