RAZOR: Pearl Flexi Adjustable Open Comb
    BLADE: Willy’s Premium
BRUSH: Rudy Vey Butterscotch Beehive 20mm Silvertip Badger
LATHER: OSP Urban Viking Shaving Soap
POST: OSP Urban Viking Aftershave Lotion

My new Pearl Flexi Adjustable Open Comb razor just arrived and I was impressed with the fit and finish.
The first shave with the new razor was pleasant. I chose an OSP soap and my Rudy Vey brush because that combination always gives me great lather. The blade used was a Willy’s Premium, a number of which came with rhe razor.
I did two passes, first WTG and then ATG, with three days' beard growth.
On the first pass, I used setting 3 and rode the cap mostly – still a good deal of blade feel. On the second pass, I switched to setting 2, and again rode the cap – not really a noticeable difference in blade feel.
This very careful first run with the new Pearl OC produced a two-pass DFS. I would say the shave at setting 3 was slightly more aggressive than my go-to ‘50s Tech, but with considerably more blade feel.
I enjoyed the first shave, but it will probably take a few more to dial in the ideal angle.

The safety blade reduced the razor's aggressiveness a good bit but there's still some irritation on the neck. Time for witch hazel alum and Lucky Tiger.

Capra soap as a facial wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Canadian Tech/Astra Green day 14
Bundubeard African Potato SS (with Glacial level menthol)
    Prep ASB
    Osage Rub AS Splash
    Bleu de Chanel Deodorant Stick
    Bleu de Chanel EdP

This African Potato soap is absolutely awesome - it was made originally as a limited edition for the South African Master Shave forum that I was a member of and this version has a lulu of a menthol sensation in addition to a beautiful outdoorsy scent, it’s glycerine based, it gives wonderful lather with lots of slickness, and great postshave care. My dear brother Jaco really nailed it with this one. The Prep and the Rubby Dubby Doo provided lots of extra moisturizing as well as soothing. Last but not least the gorgeous Bleu de Chanel fragrance and I’m ready to chill out for the day - we’ll be heading out later to visit my inlaws. Three passes delivered a splendid BBS shave that was so much fun!

Enjoy your Sunday - be well and stay safe![IMG]

    Shaving Recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/Nivea Men Power 24H Fresh Effect Shower Gel.

    Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
    Wrights Coal Tar Bar Soap.
    Brush: Wilkinson Sword Synthetic.
    Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: Gillette Original Scent Shave Foam. (Red)
    Blade: Gillette London Bridge. (D1)
    Razor: FaTip Grande.

    Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB./Milton Lloyd London 2000 EdP.

    Greetings,

    Open-Comb October focus month.

I will be using the FaTip Grande & Parker 24C paired together with the Gillette London Bridge blades for my face shaves and continue to use the Gillette Guard for my head shaves for October. Starting off with the assertive FaTip Grande fitted with the GLB was a great duo mowing through my stubble with effortless ease. I forgot how smooth & assertive this razor is.

I received two cans of Gillette shave foam ( red) & sensitive (green) with many other gifts from family & friends for my 60th birthday in June and out of respect & courtesy to them I'll start to give them a try out.

I gave the can a good shake for a minute or so then put a more than generous dollop in to my shaving bowl, Its hard to control the amount that comes out once you have pressed the release cap. The foam was far too thick with no slickness on release but with the wet synthetic brush adding a small amount of water I started to mix gradually which turned the foam into a workable shave cream with good residual slickness protection without dissipating or drying out in the bowl or on my face in-between each pass.

The post shave was very acceptable with no dryness or irritation to my skin. I'll be honest, I didn't expect a canned shave foam to give such good results. Mixing the foam in the bowl with the synthetic brush and additional water was the the key to it's performance. I will continue to use foam with the rest of my shaves throughout the week and try out the sensitive version in next week shaves.

Finishing the shave off a with a few small squirts of Milton Lloyd London 2000 EdP to the pulse points.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen.

    Hi Friends,

here my first Shave of October (01.10.2023)

    C9D0156C-602C-4F3B-88C6-C9C3B7A1FBCA.jpeg
Razor: Giesen & Forsthoff 1920 // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: CRWS Fall LE // Brush: Shavemac Cocobolo G5C // Aftershave: Annemarie Börlind Aftershave Gel

A mighty fine shave. The Blade is one of my absolute favorite now, Used it the last weeks and it´s fantastic. Smooth, gentle, thoroughly…maybe i have found the blade to retire my Gillette Bleue Extra blades.

The soap was great again. It is a wonderful Fall scent. Fallen leaves with a hint of Maple syrup in the back. Lather was great, Creamy and cushiony.

At least i ´ve used my newly bought Aftershave Gel. Bought in our vacation. Smells a bit herbal and a tiny drop it enough for one cheek. So, 2 drops for my cheeks and one for my neck. This will last almost forever i guess. First it was quite a bit sticky but after 2 or 3 minutes it was absorbed by the skin and with that time a great skincare came through.

    A lovely 10 out of 10 shave.

Have a great time, enjoy your shaves and stay safe and healthy.

    Greetings
    Thorsten
