I'll give an alcohol soak a shot. I tried a very small brush but the bristles are too soft.

    Let's have some FUN!!!!!!

Razor - Pacific DE - the Dollar Tree Special
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Proraso Red (Sandlewood)
    Brush - BoS Omega 10066
    Post - Alum

Second shave with the Pacific el-cheapo razor and blade. I switched soap to Proraso Red which I haven't used in ages. The sandlewood scent is certainly not bad but....after using Stirling Sandlewood a number of times I can definitely detect a bit more of an artificial scent to the Proraso. The ingredient list is much longer so I'm sure the extra stuff in it tends to take the scent a different direction. Not a complaint, necessarily, but proof that the enablers who took me into the rabbit hole have definitely created a bit of a monster.

As far as the shave goes I am rather surprised and happy to say that it was as smooth and nice as yesterday with the same quiet alum. This razor is proof that even at the ultra-cheap level it is possible to get nice shaves. The finish was a solid DFS and the blade didn't give any indication of slowing down so I'm sure it will go three shaves, maybe more. If I was going to compare the feel of the blade to one I know I would put it in the same range as the Ladas or Nacet. All stainless blade like they are, similar feel and I can't say it performed any worse, really. Now, at $1 for razor and 5 blades you're paying about 20 cents per blade so it is more expensive than the Russians in bulk. But for a quick and local solution it isn't bad at all.

Blues now 3-0!! Just thought you'd like to know.

BBS in just two passes and I would have gone for that third one had I not gotten a couple of weepers. :( Still, other than that I really enjoyed the overwhelming freeze from the Glacial Black Cherry's awesome, super-rich lather as well as the lovely scent. The Glacial Unscented balm treated me very well by moisturizing my skin and healing those two weepers in no time, along with a powerful menthol effect of its own. Finally, a couple of dabs of the Arctique left me frozen-solid just like yesterday. Today's rating was 9/10, so no real complaints!

    Have a great day!

Nice and easy shave with the Palmolive shave stick. I'm impressed with this product. Easy, slick lather. The G1 is always a favorite razor. Nice all the way around.

I LOVE THIS SHAVE!!!!! I do the same thing - I scrape extra cream off palm into a bowl - no need for a brush - heck barbosal and Gillette foamy worked up until a year ago... was that a dollar store razor? what store?

    Gem Contour II razor
    Gem Stainless blade
    WD Synthetic brush
    TSD Iced Lemon Grass SS
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
TSD 2X Mentholated Lemon Grass A/S

The Contour II worked pretty well. I think a carbon steel blade would be better for me as I find the stainless blades very mild. Needed a bit of extra work but a pretty darn nice shave was had. Now go enjoy your day folks.
