    Prep: Gaia face scrub
    Oil: Shave Secret
Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep
    Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery
    Razor: Gillette Old Open Comb
    Blade: Feather
    soap: Provence Sante
    Post: alum sprayed on
    Witch Hazel: Generic Rose scented
    AS: Sampson's all natural

Today's shave with the old style open comb was similar to yesterday's - a little rough. I think I will go back to the new style tomorrow. Provence Sante is still my favorite soap.

Prep: Hot shower with L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash, home made PSO
    Razor: Muhle R41 2013, J R Torrey straight razor
    Blade: Astra SP (2)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: Arko Ice Mint
After: Home made ASB, Skin Bracer
Cologne: Prada - Amber Pour Homme Intense

A nice Darn Fine Shave + this morning. The Torrey is fresh off of the hones and did it's job effortlessly this morning. The R41 is one of my favorite DEs.

    Have a blessed day!

    TUEzDAY
    A Near Repeat of Yesterday
I enjoyed Monday's shave so much I did something I rarely do… used the same straight razor for a second consecutive day!
Different soap— the PdP—which is more challenging to lather. It's a good thing I really enjoy the scent as it does require some effort for this hard puck to yield its lather.
Three passes and I'm ready to face the day!

    Have a great Tuesday, all!

    Razor: Schick J Injector+ ER 1912
    Blade: Personna Lab + GEM
    Brush: Muhle Black Fiber Synthetic
    Lather: Provence Sante
    Post: Omega Balm

Very impressed today! By the fact that a French soap actually works. It turns out the Provence Sante just doesn't want to play with my standard SEs but with the injector it performed flawlessly. I shaved half my face with the injector and it was good. The other half of my face I shaved with the ER and it was terrible. Finished up with the J for the last pass by itself.

    Tyr's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Beeline Boar
    Cream: Godrej Lemon/Lime Fresh
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo
    Blade: Bolzano Superinox (5)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (9, 10)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Aveeno Active Naturals AS lotion
    Cologne: Burberry Brit by Burberry

A whole bunch of factors seemed to contribute to a less than satisfactory shave this AM, starting with the fact that I had to be up at Zero-Dark Thirty in preparation for class. My Simpsons brush was inexplicably still damp enough that I felt it necessary to reach for the boar brush, which is never my first choice and has yet to develop the 'soft tips' some report with, for example, a Semogue that's broken-in. Couple my second-best brush (of the 3 I own) with the fact that - for me - Godrej typically produces the least slick, least stable lather among those that I use, and I was setting myself up for disappointment. Add to this the fact that the Bolzano blade was starting to really show its age, and I consider it a success that I got a shave with no bloodshed and no real alum sting. I reached for the Aveeno AS lotion both because my face felt a little more abused and dried out than normal, and because the class configuration typically has us sitting at close quarters, where Clubman might have caused comment.

Hey Lloyd! I was in Seattle on Friday night. I didn't get into Seattle until about 9:30 so it was a quick stop over. We got a Hotel in Downtown and went to see the Space Needle and get something to eat and drink. I wish we would have had time to catch your Gig but too many uncertainties about time schedules, hotel and where we would be arriving, etc. We had a great time at the Sports Bar next to the Space Needle and got to watch the Mariners game from the 4th inning on. (They got KILLED!) Very Depressing. :( I wish I could have met up with you and enjoyed some of your great music. It's great having you back in the USA again!

5/8 Crown Razor, Extra Hollow, Spike Point
    Proraso PSC
    Palmolive Classic SC
    Georgetown Scuttle
    Semogue 820 Boar
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Gold Bond Moisturizing Lotion
    Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve ASL

Back to using the straights again. When your on a train, trying to use a straight razor would be suicide! The rocking and rolling would cause severe damage to the jugular vein! ;) Now it's back to the boring office work. :sad024:

    Brush: Erskine 1947 Badger
Razor: Gillette Old Open Comb 1920s (Out of The Weekender brush kit)
    Blade: Super-Max Super Platinum
    Cream: Maca Root
    Mug: Old Spice Grand Turk
    After Shave: Old Spice Lime

Ok, Jay David and Guy got me into trying my Gillette Old Open Comb, so I put my big boy pants on a gave it a try. The Maca Root was great, needed the cushion. No Feather blade for this first run. The Super-Max blade works good for me just not as sharp. WTG XTG for a slow cautious good shave. Had to change up the angle a lot a really pay attention to what I was doing. No nicks or weepers, success! I will put it into my rotation. Thanks y'al for the support.:eatdrink047:
