So I read up on an old post on this razor and t was described as extremely efficient with the wedge blade and takes a Modern Gem but with it and the abyss of a blade gap is and I quote, "This combination is massively aggressive!" and he had the straight bar version I will concur that it is aggressive but if you have your technique down and respect it, it gives a super smooth and effective shave with glass smooth results. Coffee............I NEED Coffee..........and a Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffin. Have a great weekend everyone !!

The LaToja Shaving Stick lathered well with Jayaruh #426 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Twinjector with a Personna Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brushsqueezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Osage Rub.

Lately I’ve been using stuff which I haven’t used in a long time. It felt great to use my Plissoft synthetic brush to lather up the Brutalt Bra soap which is from Norway, it has a mild but very pleasant lavender scent, the lather is rich, slick, and very stable, and the postshave feeling is so comfortable. The L’Oreal Hydra Power balm is so soothing, and the Max Disinfecting aftershave stings a bit for a few seconds but then it feels great. Three passes resulted in a perfect BBS shave which was so much fun!

Razor: Razorock German37 slant, excellent mid range, I have to adjust the blade a little to the top cap, excellent results + 1st razor to get a true BBS yrs ago when I first started traditional wet shaving. Very efficient razor with easy handling.
Blade: Gillette Astra SP(3) excellent blade, sharp & smooth with great longevity.
Soap: Razorock Santa Marie del Fiore, nice scent with vanilla & light tobacco + excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Moka express 26mm 2 band badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft feel, nice scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush(dedicated cashmere syn) wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a clear dollop of Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock Santa Marie del Fiore with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea with HA.
Results: CCS, DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my RR German 37 slant with a Astra SS blade.

***EDIT - 1 pass + clean up. Got several weepers on my neck. One of the side of the DE blade was cutting me up. I didn't figure that out until 75% of the shave was done and some blood started showing. I flipped to the other side of the DE and immediately felt a cleaner glide. In retrospect I should have felt something was wrong in that it felt more like the blade was 'scraping', not gliding. I had to go to the PAA Alum Block which stung, then a cold water rinse and then the splash and balm. Shaves like this happen. We work with sharp instruments and delicate skin, so its inevitable. I'm hoping my skin recovers enough to do my shave tomorrow which is scheduled to be vintage Old Spice Lime. But my skin got a bit grated by that bad edge. Sometime recovery is fast but sometimes I have to skip a shave. We'll see.
