I recently got the little cutie below off of the bay. I would certainly file it under the "Gillette Tech" category. When I first held it, I noted that the head seemed to have less material than my Techs. It looked a little wimpy. "Oh well," I thought, "you rolls your dice and takes your chances." This morning was my inaugural shave on this Star. I was coming off of my forays into aggressive razors so this "Tech-mild" razor seemed ultra mild, though it may be a hair more aggressive than my Techs. I won't make that call without extended comparison. But the shave! Oh, the shave! I can't attribute what happened all to this new razor. I think the shaving gods cast their favor into my bathroom this morning. My shave was so comfortable and smooth, that I think it surpassed the BBS. I dub it the Kal El**. **I shouldn't have to point this out, but Kal El is Superman's Kryptonian name. That means today's shave may have been the Superbaby of shaves! I thought of calling it a swarden, but... c'mon... swarden wears a big blue cape when he shaves, but he can fly only when no one is looking! (Steve, I love you, man!!!!)
Well... since I was looking directly at you and you couldn't fly... it was easy. Kinda like The Silence**. **The Silence - this is a reference for Dr. Who fans and possibly more obscure than Superman's name (which I thought had gone beyond the borders of nerddom and fully penetrated popular culture!). If you don't know about The Silence, with grave warnings and strongest caution, I point you here: http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/The_Silence. If you are not a Dr. Who fan, you should probably skip it. To return to topic: It was the "pineappleness" of the knurling that drew me to this razor. I really like the handle and figured it was too good to pass up for $10.50! <— Yep, it's a small toot on the brag horn. WOOT!
It's a great razor but if you like it that much, you might like their aluminum version even better...maybe the best 3 piece I've ever used.
