I've liked all the Star Trek series, with the exception of "Enterprise." Never got into Deep Space 9, but didn't dislike it. I've really enjoyed Picard, Discovery, and Strange New Worlds.
That's how Walter Koenig got the job. "One of only two actors to audition, he was cast as Chekov almost immediately primarily because of his resemblance to British actor and singer Davy Jones of the Monkees." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Koenig
I really liked the original series and eventually got to like NextGen although initially I didn't. Couldn't stand DS9 and have been lukewarm on the rest of the franchise.
My sister loved the origional. She screamed at the TV because they cut off Star Trek to announce the assassination of MLK Jr.
Growing up, TOS was good, TNG was great, didn't get into DS9, loved Voyager, completely missed Enterprise. After watching every episode of them in recent years. They are all great, but Enterprise is the only one that left me wanting more. more later............
Patrick Stewart is not a physical actor and never has been. It is only a slight exaggeration to say that Picard's elbows were never more than two inches from his ribs. I was never able to get enthusiastic about knowing that Picard was going to reason his way through a problem that Kirk would have punched his way out of.
I still love TOS- favorite episodes are pin down as there are several that stand out.both the dramatic and the humorous.
Of the new shows, Discovery was hard to accept as even being Star Trek at first. Lower Decks is great, but Prodigy I love.
