Steam?

I was flipping around on the T.V.(yeah I'm bored) and saw an infomercial for this hand held steam cleaning thing. They were showing it getting all kinds of gunk off things like tile floors and such, then they showed in the bathroom where it took soap scum and hard water stains off of the shower and the metal fixtures. I've heard about boiling razors to clean them, has anyone thought of(or tried) using steam?

    Just wondering,
    Ken.

Never tried. Hold one over a boiling ketal and find out. Steam does work pretty well on cleaning most things. We used to clean the lab with it once in a while.

I think jewelry stores use steaming devices to clean rings and what-not.

For a razor, I'd try using a steamer basket on the stove (cooker). My mom has bought a couple of those steamer things, and most aren't very good. She found a decent one, but it was over $100 and only gives about 5 minutes of steam.
