I have a friend in Canada and i plan to order some stirling samples to him.

I narrowed my list to below soaps, will appreciate your comments to eliminate or add new ones.

    - Barbershop
    - Mountain Man
    - Margharitas in the arctic
    - Executive Man
    - Arkadia
    - Haverford
    - Gatlinburg
    - Sharp dressed man
    - Sandalwood / vanilla sandalwood / stirling spice / lavender sage (i am curious about all 4 of them but i have to eliminate some due to cost : )

    Thank you for your time

Scents are such a personal thing. What I like, you may not. What you like, your friend might not.
Ask 10 people what scent they like, you'll get 12 different answers!
Your list looks good. Go with it!

you are right. actually what i mean is, if you used some of them you may say that you have executive man, sharp dressed is very similar instead try xxx kinda feedback:)

I have not had alot of these soaps but i would say. Choose either sharp dressed man or executive man. Both soaps to me are similar but obviously different. In my opinion, some of the soaps you have listed are what i consider warm scents, darker scents. Try some light scents in there or maybe some fruity scents peach. Maybe some mentholated scents like lemon chill Or maybe even unscented like the beeswax one they have. I have 2 winter scents that i really enjoy, christmas eve and cider, i also have executive man and the unscented beeswax and all are great.

I read that you like spicy woodsy scents ..... I'd suggest "Autumn Glory"

Also to try them out order the aftershave samplers ..... that way you can try them and narrow down the ones you REALLY like.

Add Sandpiper.....that one jumped out at me compared to other aftershave samples. I know you're talkinabout soaps, but after I got the aftershave I ordered the soap....great combo. Barbershop was my first soap-it taught me the brilliance of their soaps.

Of the ones I have tried, I prefer Orange Chill and Electric Sheep.

I have a sample of Margaritas in the Arctic to try next.

The samples are great and last about a month of regular use. The glacial ones are hard core with the menthol. Unless your friend is a true menthol-head I would give a pass to them especially as a gift.

I tried the Autumn Glory and was sorely disappointed with the scent. The lather, as with all their soaps, was fantastic, but I smelled no "Autumn" nor "glory."

    But that's me.

Oh and STAY AWAY from Texas on Fire. It literally smells like a campfire... but after you dosed it with water and its been soaking overnight on a hot texas humid night or an ashtray that had beer poured into it to quench the smoldering butts...... and the smells sticks to you and your restroom like tar.

Yeah i sort of didnt care for the scent..

My suggestion would be to add one "glacial". IMO, Wintergreen is the best.

@Glondus Spice and Sandalwood are the only ones I tried on your list. Personally, Spice is a home run and Sandalwood is just ok. Satsuma is a great mandarin orange scent so you may want to add it to your list.

It is close enough that I can not tell the difference. I used Stirling spice tonight for my shave video. I think all traditional wet shavers should have a Old Spice style scent in the den.
