Has anyone used Stirling Pre-shave/Beard oil? I like their soaps. Wondering how their oil would work for my 'stache.
Stirling touts their oil as a pre-shave and beard oil. I stopped using a pre-shave oil years ago. I didn't feel the cost and the time it took to apply (granted, just a few minutes) justified the nominal results I was getting. For those who use and like the results/benefits from a pre-shave oil, it's your shave, enjoy it your way. I'm curious about it as a beard oil. I'll probably get it anyway, but was hoping to hear from the TSD denizens.
Pre-shave oil is one of those things that some of us swear by & others do not find helpful. My husband & I love it. of course, the only way to know for sure is to try some. If you are so inclined, it's not hard to make. There is a thread on this, in Tutorials.
I've made it in the past. Then I couldn't find the ingredients I was using for small batches. The order from Stirling came in today, so I'll slather it on the 'stache tomorrow and see how it goes. I probably contributed to the thread you mention. As I said, not big on using a pre-shave oil, but want it as a beard oil.
I've used it, and made it, in the past. I have found it does nothing for my shaves. Other than gunk up my razors, and accelerate the clogging of my sink.
My favorite beard oils are: 1. Kentucky 51 Sandalwood/Patchouli. Only on Etsy now 2. Caveman Tobacco 3. Caveman Sandalwood
Again, not using it as a pre-shave oil, but a beard oil. I've used it 3 days. So far, so good. I got the sampler of 3 scents: Bay Rum, Stirling Gentleman, Hipster.
