I was gifted a sample size cake of Stirling shave soap just two days ago. I've just test lathered it, and it's quite nice. It is the "Stirling Spice" scent, and to me it smells very much like the original Old Spice. Has anyone else used this, and do you find it similar to the original Old Spice?
I've never tried Old Spice shave soap, even though Arko is my soap of choice now, I do like Old Spice after shave, so I guess I'll have to get a puck of "Sterling Spice" shave soap and give it a go.
I use it and like it a lot. I find it smells much like the "real old" old spice AS. Maybe even a touch spicer. I have heard Dollar general has a Real old spice aftershave that's a good match to the Stirling soap. I have some brutish (brut scent) on order and hope it's as good as the old spice.
It is close, but not dead on. As with all Stirling soaps, it is a champ. I have almost finished my first puck of it. I go back and forth between the Spice and the Shulton Old Spice Cream.
I used up a puck of the Stirling Spice back in July/August. I always used Old Spice aftershave or cologne after it. The scent was good and the performance of the soap was outstanding. I think I pretty much face lathered it most of the time and it rarely let me down for the month it took to use up the puck.
I just made another test lather with the Stirling Spice, and I like it even more now. (it certainly likes water, doesn't it?) I'll have two days growth in the morning, and I'm going to give my new Omega 10104 and the new Fatip Grande a go with this soap.
Bobcat posted a pic of a screw top container that looks like the ziplock screw top tubs I use for all my Stirling soaps. You can crush to puck down into the soap and then add a bit of water to the top and scrub it up. Add some more water and seal it up and it will Soren into a croap. That really Lets you ease up on the water. I still submerge my brush got a sec then let it drip dry and scrub till the brush is loaded. 5-20 seconds or so. Then bowl or face lather. But yea, stirling likes water.
I have tried the original Old Spice before and I also have Stirling Spice.. Very close IMHO....great soap
I'm gonna have to pick up a puck of this sometime in the future! Love the performance of the couple Stirling soaps I've tried
I have both the shave soap, and bath soap. I also have several different bottles of Shulton Old Spice, ranging from 1956 to the late 1980's. I find the Stirling Spice scent to be good, but not close to the Sulton Old Spice. The Stirling is very slick, and smells good. Its worth the money, for me.
