When I travel I bring a simple kit: a Gillette fat handle tech, a tuck of blades, one soap, one cream, one brush, some witch hazel and maybe a balm. If I lose it all, no big loss. And it is lightweight.

I have a one week trip coming up and would like to bring SR gear with me this time and leave my DE at home for a change. I would like your thoughts on a basic SR travel kit. What do you bring along with you? What do you use for a travel strop? One or two SR? Any stone for touch ups? Any tips or tricks for SR shaving on the road? No need to comment on carry-on rules and flying with a SR. I always check my luggage.

Strops lay flat - easy pack.
You take extra DE blades, I'd say take an extra str8. Take just one and you're out if you ding the edge.

My Drygulch strop goes between layers of clothes in the suitcase. The rest goes into my Dopp kit. It all travels well.

Pharmacy bottles work great for the soap stick and brush. I drilled holes in the brush bottle so it can breath. [IMG]
    Have fun!

I have a small paddle strop, it's two sided so one side is treated with CrOx.

I usually do a test shave on the straight I plan on traveling with.If it's not up to par it gets a quick refresh.I also just bring a basic good quality straight. Not something I can not replace if lost or stolen. In case I do not have time for a proper straight shave.I bring a Fat boy with some blades.

Thankfully, I no longer have to air travel for my job, and for personal travel; I use a motor home. I now even have a hanging strop that resides in the RV.
I did pick up up and restore this little gem some time ago. A felt strop covered by a leather strop. The barbers hone slides off to open up a lined compartment that will hold one razor.
