Has anyone tried a Streamline strop with a modern GEM SS with a few shaves on it? Or a new GEM SS stropped just once or twice along the leather to remove some of the first shave harshness?
No. But stainless blades don't strop well. They form a wire bead on the edge quickly, so don't get carried away. Don't let me stop you from trying, though. I await your results with bated breath.
