I just heard from Maggards through an email conversation, that Strop Shoppe is going out of business. Maggards is receiving their last order and that's all folks......... Sad day. I love SS.
Email: Subject: Re: Lavanille and alpine frost Lavanille is on order. Strop Shoppe has closed its doors; we have some of their products coming for a final order, but I'm not sure what ones. Maggard will be the only place with the remaining stock of Strop Shoppe. Brad
I tried several samples of the S.E line. The scents were light, but acceptable. Gave good lather like a tallow soap should.
If we all agree that they performed well, any ideas why they didn't survive? I'm curious how important it is to stay connected with the shave community via social media?
I'm not sure, if maybe it's because their scents aren't as powerful as others, or because they didn't stay connected etc. They were my first artisan soft soap. Never forget your first
If i didnt have 80 plus soaps id order even more. They are top performing soaps. I might order more later this week.
+1 I never cared for their soaps but always sad to see a business that so many do like close up. Unless of course it's for a good reason such as a happy retirement
My guess is cost. After shipping their soaps are almost $5 per oz. That might be acceptable for a triple milled soap, but that's REALLY expensive for soft soaps.
Price probably did turn some away. Because its 20 dollars a soap. But its a top performing soap so it never bothered me.
