It's that time of year again when it seems all our fruit trees, grape vines, squash, tomatoes, fava beans, and Lord knows what else, ALL seem to come into full production. Our berry vines. plum and apple trees are finished (we now have countless jars of apple sauce, apple butter, plum and berry jam). Right now the peach tree is loaded and beginning to drop. This photo is of a random collection I made in about 10 minutes and the tree still looks as though I've not made a dent in the bounty. Deliciously sweet, fresh-stone peaches that are simply exceptional! Some are near softball size! We are blessed……….and soon so will be all our neighbors! Right outside our bedroom the arbor vines are full of plump grapes…grapes vines seem to thrive in a drought!
I remember the drought of 76-77. A couple more UCLA's California will look like Arizona. btw. I like Arizona
Ahh, well, after reading this little tidbit, I have a rekindled respect for penguins' sense of taste. There's only so much raw herring one can eat, I suppose...
