Just for fun. I bought this, because it was big and looked cool. It probably wont take an edge, but it will look impressive on a shelf. Has anyone else bought and tried to hone one of these??? If nothing else, it's an $8.50 letter opener. But, if it can take an edge, It might make a fun Pass Around. 10.5" Sweeney Todd Straight Blade Barber Razor
Reading further, the blade edge is only 4 1/2 inches. The overall length of the razor is 10 1/2 inches. I doubt it will take a edge, but I will try, when it arrives.

Don't everyone get too excited. I fully expect this thing to be a wall hanger only. But, there is always a chance it will hone up. If the steel comes from China, there is a chance the steel is good for honing. If it's from Pakistan, there might not be much hope.
It may take an edge initially, but the problem with some of those razors is the steel wont hold it for very long.
I bought a Pakistani made razor from a large barber supply house. I even chatted with them, and they do the finishing on them by hand. I couldn't get a shave out of that razor as they sent it, and I wasn't able to get a good bevel set that didn't crumble away when I got to my mid range stones. I wish you all the luck on this, but I wouldn't bet on it.
It has arrived. BIG and Beautiful. A little scary too. The good thing is, that it is made in China. Its sturdy, solid, and put together nicely. I will try to put an edge on it tomorrow. Here it is. There is also a size comparison to a normal sized Henckels. Sweeney Todd Size comparison
