This came in a lot of razors from the 30s and early 40s. While the handle is removable for travel it functions as a one piece, with the cap sliding away on a pivot to enable blade insert and removal. It's tightened with a thumbscrew. No info in Waits though it may carry other branding. The name is not ironic it shaves just fine, enjoyable even.
Yup, did very well. Will do it again with a change of blade. I used the Derby out of caution but thing's a pussycat. Sent from my LG-US998 using Tapatalk
I find the Focus Tritock R51 Flat to be a very technical razor. Not easy to find the right angle. After playing around for a while, I've add two shims. With this little hack, It's a very efficient razor. And full plane geometry give a huge stiffness to the blade. I love It. Here more details and pics. http://shavenook.com/showthread.php?tid=60511
Would like to try one or more of the Focus series. It appears that the little hook at the edge of the cap on the Temple razor imparts enough angle that I had no difficulty with it, whereas the Focus is indeed perfectly flat. Sent from my LG-US998 using Tapatalk
On R51 the problem is the exposure. Totally neutral, maybe a hair negative. With no gap, this get hard to find the right angle. Just two shims (2 x 0.1 mm) made the magic. Flat is good, with the right blade feeling.
It looks like a prototype monobilt cooper, kind of... If you squint and turn your head to the side. Neat looking razor.
Umm no, the cap slides it doesn't pop up. If you close your eyes entirely ....yeah maybe Sent from my LG-US998 using Tapatalk
Just seen the @twhite's DEvette ... The DEvise !!! https://imgur.com/BuToscs Original 1500x1500px For sure this has no problems of efficacy.
