Today, a special heartfelt Thank You to all our veterans. Without you we wouldn't be the same great country we are today.
I give my heartfelt thanks to all those who have served. And serve truly is the right word. Considering all the possible outcomes - physical, emotional, and pyschological trauma - I have a deep respect for people who left their everyday lives and gave themselves up for the safety of our nation. They weren't just weekend warriors. They were soldiers.
Another big thanks to my family, friends, and fellow americans who have and are serving this great country in the armed forces. Doubly so for my brother-in-law who will home with his family tonight after his third tour in Iraq.
During our children's time this past Sunday we had a the vets stand during each of our three worship services. The children then went all around the worship space shaking hands and thanking each vet individually. It took a while, but wow! was it powerful. Thanks Vets!
Many of us were fortunate enough to go through the experience of spending several years on active duty, afterwards returning to civilian life with no significant negative "reminders" of the time served. Speaking as one of those lucky ones, I also extend my great appreciation to the guys and gals who served and sacrificed much more than I did. God bless America.
I pray that my friends in the service now will be honored on future Veterans' Days and not remembered on future Memorial Days.
God Bless to all who have served our great nation. Thank you for your courage and dedication. Thank you for our freedom.
Such great sentiments in this thread already, all I can do is offer a big +1,000,000,000 to it all. And a heartfelt Thank you!
Glad to see the remembrance of Vets Day. It warms the heart. I took a bike ride to the VA hospital to talk with some disabled vets.
