that's ok to use DE Safety Razor with Gillette shaving gel?

That was my motivation.

Unless you shave with techniques historical.
There are some who may think you heretical.
Their views on canned goo can be hysterical,
And perhaps a tad hypocritical.
Think of them and feel piratical,
Shave with canned gel when you find it pleasurable.

There is no inherent incompatibility between safety razors and canned gel. If you are getting excellent shaves with gel and a safety razor, then it makes sense to use what works.

A lot of people on shaving forums call shaving gel "canned goo". That is not because they have an inherent dislike of gel as such, but because they have found other products that work much better for them. Canned gel then pales in comparison. For others, such as yourself, shaving gel works great. It's all a matter of personal preference.

 

True, but perhaps it is best to let the weasel shank itself, as it has always done, and move on. As you can see in this thread, weasels have no control over anything outside of their cage.

 

I found with gel, I broke out more; so if I'm going to use something from a can, I use Barbasol.

That said ... do what ever makes your face happy.
