They are on offer tomorrow at a local shop 50% off.

    Are they any good ?

    My Shavecreams are:

    Truefitt&Hill Sandalwood & Ultimate Comfort
    Penhaligon Endymion & Blenheims
    Fitjar Folgefonn & CitrusKick
    Castle Forbes Lime & Lavender
    DR Harris Arlington & Marlborough
    TOBS Jermyn street
    Kent Mint
    Speick
    Proraso
    Musgo Real

What can I expect from Art of Shaving Sandalwood and Lemon ShaveCream compared to my current cream 'wardrobe' ?

    Thanks :)

Where are you located? At 50% off give some a try and let us know what you think. I've often wondered about their products. You have a couple in your line up that I would like to try, the Penhaligon and the Fitjar.

I have a sampler of the Sandalwood. It is adequate, but I found Bigelow to be better as far as lather and overall shaving comfort. It isn't bad but it has taken a back seat to the Bigelow. I would like to try the Lemon out.

At 50% off it is still a buck more than Bigelow.

AOS is good as any other creams listed. The big turn off for some is the price. I think the Kent and T&H are more luxurious creams though.

    Oki :)
From the list of the creams I own, I find Castle Forbes, Penhaligon and Fitjar all are superior to my 2 Truefitt & Hill and Kent creams - not by much, but still clearly better.

    I'm in Copenhagen, Denmark.
A perfume store is closing all out tomorrow. Got a special invitation.

Problem is that I'm also a Basenoter and all perfumes, except Chanel & Dior, are also 50% off - even the Creeds and Bonds too !

So the Art of Shaving cream has to be really AWESOME for me to invest in more ShaveCreams, when I already own 15 creams.

Perfume sprays last for 3-5 years, ShaveCreams for maybe 1-2 years. So will rather invest in perfumes tomorrow.

The Acqua Di Parma ShaveCream is also at 50%. Maybe I should buy that cream instead of 2 Art of Shaving creams :)

All Acqua Di Parma is 50% off also.
But I'm not a fan of their scents....but have heard great things about the ShaveCream.

If I didn't already own 50+ 100/200 ml EDT bottles I would go crazy tomorrow and empty my bank account ;)

    C. O. Bigelow is identical to Proraso, which I already own. If you find Art of Shaving sub par to Bigelow/Proraso - I will not even look at AOS creams.

Frankly I find Proraso cream great, but not in the same league as Castele Forbes, Fitjar and Penhaligon.

I think I'll just buy a tub of Acqu Di Parma ShaveCream at 50% off and concentrate on getting me some Creed and Bond EDT at 50% off :)

That is what I would do.

AOS is decent. But for the price I would choose other options.

A little update on my purchase :)

Went into the department store and got a bottle of creed GIT & Original Santal. Then fell over an YSL La Nuit de L'Homme 200 ml EDT maxi for $65 which in my country is less than half price - yeah my country is EXPENSIVE compared to the rest of the world. Finally bought both the sandalwood and lemon Art of Shaving cream tubs and the Acqua Di Parma ShaveCream.

Ended up getting a Burberry London 100 ml EDT, a Boss Bottled 200 ml EDT, a JPG Le Male 200 ml EDT
All 50% off and 2 Clinique Face scrubs, a Clinique 2.5 Scruffing lotion and a Clinique Post Shave healer.

    All at 50% off :)

Must say the Acqua Di Parma ShaveCream SCREAMS high quality, it better at that price.
Some said it smelled fishy, not to me. I smell barber shop, a bit of mint, luxury soap and fresh ocean.

This cream is not harder than the Art of Shaving cream. Not like soap at all.... But not soft like Penhaligon either, but softer than DR HARRIS ShaveCreams for sure.....

    Look forward to test them....

All of Burberry's frags smell great. I've got Brit and Burberry.

I once was adviced never to blind buy scents. I blind bought Burberry London because I was told it was the perfect Christmas scent.

To be honest I don't like it :(

It will come last in my rotation among 80 EDT frags along with Caron Yatagan, which I also blind bought because I like scents like KOUROS and Opium.

Will get Burberry BRIT next time :)
How do you like Brit's longevity and scent ?

London is just too 'red' and spicy, and not spicy in a good way....

    But I'll survive it ;)

Brit is great, a little goes along way because it's a sweet smell. Longetivity on me is a couple of hours, 4-5 at most, but that is just me as nothing lasts very long on me. I haven't smelled London yet, but it's on my list of wants.

Unfortunately all Burberry frags seem to have serious longevity problems.
Good in case with LONDON as I don't particularly like it, but bad because in my view everything under 6 hours is just not acceptable for frags with a price over the 50$-$60 in 100 ml EDT.

Creed have the same problem. And they cost triple that !!

I like to be able to put on my frag at 7 in the morning and still catch a whiff of it at 4 in the afternoon.

Don't need them all to last 12+ hours like Le Male, KOUROS, Opium and Fahrenheit do on me - but at least 6-8 hours !

But will try Burberry Brit and see if I like it. London is just not for me, but as with all scents I plan to give it a chance wearing it 3-4 times before I will dump it to my Gym Locker bag and use as a gym scent, because it's still better than sweat after all.....

Yatagan is already in my gym bag ;)

I have all of the AOS creams and the Sandalwood is my favorite. The GIT Creed is the one that has been on my wish list for a long time but cannot make myself pay the $100++ price....well, there is always Christmas and thankfully we have no shops within several hours of driving time that sells the high end stuff.

I think AOS creams a better than represented here. I found the sample I tried (unscented) comparable to Creighton creams like T&H and TOBS. Certainly not bad, but I didn't find a reason to pay the normal asking price. At 50% off I'd likely pick one up.

I wouldn't mind getting a tube of AOS for a Christmas present.

Just used my new Acqua Di Parma. It's really great - best cream I've used, but only because I got it for half price is it now a part of my ShaveCream den :)

    10/10 - AWESOME CREAM !!!

That's because AOS creams ARE made by Creighton ;)

Creighton also make Truefitt, DR HARRIS, TOBS & Trumper creams as far as I know.....

I presonally don't care for any of the AOS creams. They're too expensive for what you get. The only one I might consider buying again is the lavender.

Jeff, I actually like the 2 AOS creams I bought at 50% off quite a bit. They perform similar to my Truefitt & Hill shavecreams - they are also both made by the same manufacturer (Creighton), which also happen to make DR Harris, Trumper and TOBS creams.

The Acqua Di Parma surprised me in a good way. Extremely expensive cream, still with the 50% off I got it for, but WoW - Lather ability is awesome, the lather last for 3 passes, my skin feels great and healed after the shave - even cuts and nicks seems to heal, the scent of it is a floral barber like smell with a weak hint of warm mint.
I will almost surely buy a new tub of this stuff once this one is used up :)
