So today I got my shipments in of assorted creams that I liked along with the starter kit. Being cheap I bought it mainly for testing out there cream and oils. Within the kit I got a badger brush with what looks to be a pure badger knot. What amazed me was the size of the brush! The brush is so ridiculously small I am astonished that The Art of Shaving (great company) would include such a small useless brush in this kit. Ill post pics up soon of the brush. Warning to some noobs do not purchase this kit for the brush in mind lol.

Yeah, well they're owned by Procter & Gamble now, I'm amazed they even throw in a brush anymore.

The large AOS kit has a brush which is badger and is quite good at 105 mm overall and a knot of 21mm which I use when traveling. I have not seen the small one with the travel size creams and soaps but take The Shave Den samples of shave creams in my shave kit.

You don't want that small brush, I'll take it off your hands. :)

that was my first brush, I just used it to lather up today. worked pretty well perhaps a little better then my VDH badger (it was used for about 2 months straight though so it is broken in really well)

I use an AoS brush every day, though admittedly not the small one. I think it'd be good to keep around for travel, though...

I did end up giving it a try.... It does take a bit to get a good lather from the small knot, and small handle, but it could make and ok travel brush. the AOS products were top notch though!!

I have no trouble getting a good lather other than the fact that my fingers are in my cream mug.

The size doesn't bother me but I wish the bristles were stiffer. Overall I like it, but I have a "real" shaving brush on my xmas list.
