There are loads of creams out there worth trying out. I've got a little of everything: Taylors, Trumpers, Truefitt & Hill, Art of Shaving, Proraso, Musgo Real, Palmolive, Frasers, Floris, and probably a few others. Out of those, the Frasers is probably my favorite. It's loaded with glycerin and super slick. It's also a super value. A huge tub of this stuff is only around $10.
A few of my favorites: Musgo: Olivia: Speick: Tom's of Maine: Florena: Not pictured, but very good: Erasmic, Palmolive (US & Euro), MB, JM Fraser
Yeah, but how do we know all those aren't from a tub of Cool Whip? Or worse - Foamy?! One of my LEAST favorite shaving cream scents is Almond. However, I DO have a tub of C&E that really is very good in the performance department...probably one of my best in fact. Guess I'll have to try another C&E scent and hope it works as well as the Almond does.
You know, I really don't remember the last time I used canned lather - probably a good ten years before you were BORN! (Yeah, I'm THAT old...older, even!)
Even before I discovered this 'lost art' I had quit using canned anything. Prior to discovering wetshaving, I was using Kiehl's brushless shave creams.
I'll jump off a bridge before I ever use canned gook. I'm 52, and have been shaving with a brush, DE, and soap/cream for 38 years, and I plan to continue. Jeff
Michael, C&E almond is actually a muguet scent, not really almond, in the sense that Taylors, or DR Harris is. You're right about the cream, it does perform great. Jeff
I love Almond in every formulation.....EXCEPT C&E. I is a great shaving cream...but I just can't stand the smell. Brian
I'll second that notion, my friend. Actually, I find all the C&E fragrances sweet and sickening. Their sandalwood was a big let-down, given the hype. Its a shame, because they are widely available....but they just don't do it for me.
Joe, actually, C&E puts out damn nice shave creams. The problem is, they're so expensive for the most part. Jeff
Sandalwood.........too sweet Sienna.........................no Guess I gota give the Almond a try (I do like me some Almond scents)
This is interesting. At TOP, I really don't recall reading ANY negative comments about C&E Sweet Almond. Maybe I just missed 'em, but every post I recall reading raved about it. Smells great, works great, yadda, yadda. Well, it DOES work great!!
No Michael there were posts stating people's opinions that they didn't like C&E Almond, or other stuff.
