Here's my first (of what I hope to be many) completed flat-bow. I made this from a tree from behind my house.
Very nice! I'd be interested in a 45-50# with a 30 inch draw. Matt, your bow is nice too. Useless, but still nice
ahaha that made me laugh way too much that bow looks awesome, much cooler then one ones my brother I would make with sticks and bungie cords while camping
Wow... that's pretty impressive How's it feel to shoot? Every now and then I get the bug to take up traditional archery, but living in an apartment and needing to join a club to use a bow range has kept a damper on it thus far.
Yeah, but the reward is worth it. I love Osage bows. Of course, we called bodark growing up. I have a couple of staves up in my attic that I'm hoping to get going on pretty soon. I recently made a bamboo backed hickory. It was very sweet. The cast was incredible.
Here's my latest project. It's a beautiful piece of elm, slowly worked from a stave cut from my friend's woods. I hope to make a 50# hunting bow from it.
Sorry, I missed this earlier. It feels awesome to shoot a bow you made yourself, but this particular bow is a little awkward. I made some mistakes with it, so it's not a great bow to shoot. The main problem is I didn't give it enough fist melee, so the string slaps my hand with every shot.
