Dude, you’re harsh. That’s like tossing a guy for putting beans in his chili. You can still tell him he made a nice pot of bean soup, you don’t need to disown him over it.

Ah.....who wants to inherit pallet loads of Williams anyhow if you can't add a little water.

Rub the puck on your face.

You've quite obviously never been to a chili cook off in the South.

Battle lines are drawn. It's serious, not as serious as BBQ or Nick Saban, but it'd be nothing I'd mess around with...

Chili= Meat, various chile powders, salt, water.

I will die on that hill.

    We have issues now.

Born and raised northern; and we've alway made chili with beans ... it's the second best way to keep warm during our long northern winters. :sexe: or :angry021:

I have always been on the bean side of chili. I have seen the war..... I stay under the radar.

We’re on the same hill. Chili with beans is bean soup.

Soups are thin. Chili is thick. Might blow the bean soup thing out ofthe water.

No worries here. I'm upwind and upstream. A working solution for Williams and beans. :)

    P.S. chili has beans!

I like beans in mine. (If it's a vote), but I've been told it didn't originally have beans in it.

Pfft. I come from a very unique region of the Desert Southwest where chili has no ground meat, nor chili power, nor beans. Chili is comprised of strips of roasted chili peppers (from Pueblo CO. Or hatch NM.), roasted tomato, garlic, chunks of pork. Water is added and then thickened to a stew like consistency. From Pueblo CO to Santa Fe NM this is what we call chili. North of Pueblo they call it green chili, but they don't get it right.

There are a lot of foods that barely resemble their traditional origins. I'm not saying my chili is authentic chili; it's just the way we like it.

Now for those that want to make chili "sweet" .....

I was born and raised, most of my life in Texas, where beanless chili reigns. But, I've learned a long time ago that if you cook it right, it doesn't matter if it has beans in it, people will like it. My wife and I prefer my chili with beans. I sometimes will have a block party with my chili being the main theme. I will sometimes make it with 40-45 lbs of meat, and a lot of beans. We rarely have leftovers.
