Even though both my knees are shot and they ache every single second, i am overwhelmed by the love and support my wife and kids give me.
Sound to me like you are a good, solid man. In my book, you can't really top that. What else is there?
Just hard when it is a kid you've known since Pampers. A good kid too. I don't think bad or evil, just freaking lost. Makes you realize how lucky you are that your kids didn't get tripped up. And for that I am eternally grateful.
From personal experience - if you think he/she is lost - offer to sit down with them and listen. They may simply need to vent to someone that _isn't_ 1) a peer, or 2) an authority figure. Maybe even offer to find them someone _else_ to listen if they need it. Unfortunately, I know of at least one young man who is very much... sociopathic? He's about 8, but he's not outgrowing any of it. Violent, destructive, and excessively self-centered. Very much an "If I'm out of sight, there are no rules. If I'm in sight, lie about it" kid. I don't know that he'll be a serial killer (doesn't strike me as smart enough), but I could see him turning into a "Y'all hold my beer and watch this." type.
I'm grateful for a wonderful day spent with my family at Knoebel's Amusement Resort. If you ever get a chance to come to central Pennsylvania, I highly recommend it! It's one of my favorite places on earth...
Sometimes when people ask my how I am doing I reply, "Still alive, roof over my head and food in my belly." Some take it as negative but I think it is very positive. When ever I feel sorry for myself I try to remember how many people are in a much much tougher situation and that I am very lucky in this life. So today I am thankful to be alive with a roof over my head and food on the table.
I'm so grateful for my beautiful wife, every day she gets up and and makes us breakfast, it's such a wonderful way to spend some good quality and quite time together. It really is a great foundation for a relationship, marriage.
I've been blessed with my beautiful bride, and my boys who will be leaving us in a few days to attend college. They're good sons.
