The Booster's I have been playing with a little by adding some aloe & glycerin. Without it, they are far too drying for my taste.

The Toadstool soaps cam from a seller on eBay. I picked up some of her black pepper shower gel and the scent wasn't truly that of black pepper. The maker was kind enough to include a small sample of the Oak Moon which is very nice! The bar wrapped in tissue is dragon's blood.

 

My brother came back from eastern Europe with a little bag of goodies..

Custom Afzelia Burl Wood 24mm Silvertip Badger Shave Brush

This Afzelia Burl wood Silver Tipped Badger hair shaving brush was hand turned. This 24mm Silver Tipped Badger hair brush has extra stuffing and long hair. The brush and handle together are 5 1/2" tall. The Badger brush is 2 1/4" wide and 2 1/2" tall. The shaving brushes' finish is durable, highly polished cannot be penetrated by water.
Afzelia Burl is a rare and beautiful wood with colorful wood and wavy flow in the burl. This piece has an interesting combination of lighter sap wood and darker heartwood--very striking. Depending on your view, this brush is like looking at two different pieces of wood.


The good news is the person who made this lives about 10 miles from me and I already have an invite to see some of their other work.

A. Leon Sheffield 6/8 (ish) wedge. I think it's fairly old (C. 19th century). Scales look original and have a nice little cap on the end.

Really nice shaver, but took a while to hone. Gives some serious stiction on my head if I'm not careful with the angle.

I got from TSD: Polynesian Red soap, mojito cream, lemongrass shave stick, and old spice lime.

For some reason the lemon grass reminds me of Trix Cereal, I like it, the Polynesian red is amazing got to shave with it this morning, an all around positive experience. Thanks Joanna! I don't know why, but I think my nose is dead to lime scent. I can't smell it in the mojito, just smell spearmint, and the old spice smells unscented, but maybe it just comes out with lather, I have not lathered either yet.

I also got a copy of Krumholz' book finally and a vintage ad for the Gillette Bostonian to decorate my den.

Not a bad week so far.

Rodd, is the Polynesian Red a sweet scent?

 

its sweet, but it has a citrus and a almost musky scent to it. I think that must be the moss that Joanna was talking about. I think it is fantastic, very complex, and I think a great summer choice.
